Acura CarPlay upgrades

Filmed Acura CarPlay / Android Auto work on this site starts with the Integra Type S I own and modify on camera. That platform shares a lot with the 11th-gen Civic, so the filmed head-unit guides below are the place to start if you want a real dash teardown, harness notes, and wireless CarPlay on an Acura I have actually installed. Catalog rows under “More head units” cover other Acura years I have not filmed yet—treat those as fitment lists, not reviews.

What I filmed on Acura

The Integra Type S / DE5 generation is where the on-camera work lives: Android / CarPlay head-unit installs, plus related interior and exterior mods linked from the Integra car page. Open the filmed vehicle card below for the unit I installed, the buy buttons (Amazon first when a matching link exists), and the step-by-step guides. If you drive an older TLX, RDX, or MDX, use the catalog listings only after you confirm year, trim, and factory amp with the seller—I have not put those kits in those cars on camera.

What to look for in an Acura head unit

Prefer a vehicle-specific kit over a universal double-DIN. Acura dashes, climate stacks, and steering-wheel control networks vary by generation. Look for an explicit year/trim list, a CANbus or SWC harness that matches your radio, and a clear story for the reverse camera and any factory amp. Wireless CarPlay / Android Auto is common on current Android units, but confirm it on the product page before you buy. Screen size should clear the dash bezel without blocking HVAC or airbag covers.

How to use this hub

Start with the filmed Integra card if that is your car. Read the linked DIY guides for tools, fitment, and wiring. If your Acura is only in the “not reviewed” list, open that stub for listed brands and buy links, then ask the seller with a photo of your factory radio. Do not assume an Integra harness fits an RDX or TLX.

Affiliate and honesty notes

Buy buttons on filmed pages keep Amazon tag 8324894-20 first when an Amazon URL exists, then Dasaita / iDoing / AliExpress / eBay. I do not invent prices or install counts. Catalog Acura rows are untested listings.

Acura CarPlay FAQ

Does Acura support wireless CarPlay from the factory?

Newer Acuras often include wireless or wired CarPlay depending on trim and year. Older cars usually need a head-unit upgrade. Confirm on your exact model year in the owner’s manual or radio settings.

Which Acura have you filmed?

The Integra Type S / related Civic-platform installs are on the filmed finder cards below, with full DIY guides linked from each vehicle. Other Acura models in the catalog are not filmed.

Will an Integra kit fit my TLX or RDX?

Usually no. Dashes and harnesses differ. Buy a kit listed for your exact model and years, or ask the seller with your VIN / radio photo.

Are the “not reviewed” listings tested?

No. Those are catalog fitment listings only—confirm year and trim with the seller before buying.

Where else should Integra owners look?

See the Integra car gallery, the Civic/Integra iDoing 11.5" guide when it matches your years, and the Acura filmed vehicle card below.

I haven't tested these, but they're listed as compatible.
