Mitsubishi CarPlay upgrades

Filmed Mitsubishi coverage on ngooyen.com is the Lancer Evolution X Android / CarPlay head-unit install I did on camera. That is the only Mitsubishi platform with a filmed walkthrough here so far. If you own an Evo X (or a closely related Lancer year that shares the same dash kit), start with the filmed card below for the real harness, dash, and wireless CarPlay notes. Everything under “More head units” is catalog fitment only until I film those cars.

What I filmed on the Evo X

The Evolution X install shows a vehicle-specific Android unit going into the factory dash with the usual DIY sequence: trim removal, harness and antenna adapters, test-fit, and first boot with CarPlay / Android Auto. Use the linked guide for tools and steps. I do not invent dyno numbers or “best” scores—what you get is what I filmed and what the listing states for fitment.

What to look for in a Mitsubishi head unit

Evo and Lancer kits are easy to mix up across markets and years. Confirm the listing covers your exact chassis years, whether you have a factory amp or Rockford setup, and how reverse camera / steering controls are retained. Prefer a kit that names Evolution X or your Lancer generation explicitly over a vague “Mitsubishi universal” double-DIN. Wireless CarPlay is a listing feature—verify it on the product page.

Lancer vs Evo caveats

Some harnesses and bezels overlap Lancer and Evo years, but audio, cages, and interior trim can differ. If you drive a non-Evo Lancer, treat Evo-titled kits cautiously and ask the seller before ordering. Catalog Mitsubishi rows for other models are untested on this site.

How to buy from these pages

Filmed pages keep Amazon first when a tagged Amazon URL exists (8324894-20), then store and eBay links already on the listing. Catalog stubs follow the same affiliate order when those URLs exist. Always confirm year and trim with the seller.

Mitsubishi CarPlay FAQ

Does the Evo X support wireless CarPlay after a head-unit swap?

Yes—when you install a vehicle-specific Android unit that lists wireless CarPlay. See the filmed Evo X guide for the harness and dash steps I used.

Will this fit a regular Lancer?

Some kits overlap Lancer / Evo years, but confirm the exact dash and harness with the seller—Evo audio and cages can differ.

Are other Mitsubishi models reviewed?

Not on camera yet. Catalog listings under More head units are untested.

What should I ask the seller?

Send your year, model, photo of the factory radio, and whether you have a premium amp. Ask which bezel and CANbus box ship with the kit.

Where is the filmed guide?

Open the Evolution X vehicle card below, then the linked DIY install guide for the full steps.

More head units

I haven't tested these, but they're listed as compatible.
