John installs Dasaita 6.5-inch glass-fiber weave speakers in the doors: trim clips, three speaker screws, a foam ring seal, and a volume sweep that holds past where stock speakers started to distort. This 9 min guide covers the Dasaita glass-fiber woven 6.5" speakers linked on Amazon in the description with tools, parts links and the full video.
Overview
John wanted more volume without distortion and tried Dasaita's affordable glass-fiber weave 6.5-inch speakers. Door-card clips come off from the bottom with a plastic tool; unplug the lock/window harnesses, remove three speaker screws, and pull the stock speakers. The new woofers need a foam/film ring for a good seal — mark the four mounting points, trim the ring if needed, and screw them in without overtightening. After clipping the door card back, he A/B tests: stock speakers sounded fine until about volume 10–11, then started to flap and distort; the weave speakers keep booming cleaner when you turn them up. Not a night-and-day audiophile jump, but a clear upgrade for the money. Links from the description are below.
