Yes — you can install This kit on the Universal double-DIN: fits cars with a standard double-DIN opening with a 18 min DIY job. John swaps an older aftermarket radio for a $250 EONON 7" Android 11 double-DIN: five color-matched wires, a backup camera on AV-IN, wireless Android Auto, then a tour of the apps and settings.
Overview
A budget universal unit in John's 1995 Acura. Out comes the old aftermarket radio; the EONON's harness connects to the car's adapter harness with about five wires, color matched (orange to orange, yellow to yellow), twisted and taped. His car has no steering-wheel controls or reverse signal, so those wires stay unused and the backup camera goes into AV-IN, powered from the camera lead. Wireless Android Auto connected with a Galaxy Z Fold 4 through the ZLink app, and CarPlay worked too. He then walks through the apps (radio, music from micro-SD or internal storage, video, AV-IN, gallery, extra APKs, an EQ and Torque for OBD2 data), the driving setting for video, the customizable boot logo (he picked Acura) and the RK3566 / Android 11 specs. For about $250 he thinks it's incredible value.

Step by step
- 1
Remove the old radio▶ 0:39
Pull the existing aftermarket unit; the EONON goes in its place.
- 2
Match the five wires▶ 1:29
Connect the unit's harness to your adapter harness. It's about five wires and they're color coded: orange to orange, yellow to yellow and so on. The rest are for steering-wheel controls, which John's car doesn't have.
- 3
Join them securely▶ 2:05
Solder, twist, or use tap clips. John strips a little extra for more twisting area, twists, and wraps with electrical tape, which he finds most reliable.
- 4
Illumination wire▶ 3:46
One wire makes the head unit dim with your lights. Other than that, the wiring is done.
- 5
Plug into the car▶ 4:18
The white connector depends on your car: it's the adapter you buy (from Amazon or similar) that goes to the OEM harness in the back.
- 6
Speakers and power test▶ 5:23
Purple and green are the rear speakers. Plug in speakers and power, fish it back in (the leads aren't very long), and check that it powers on.
- 7
Wireless Android Auto▶ 6:34
With a Galaxy Z Fold 4, pair to the unit; it opens ZLink, shows waiting, then connects to wireless Android Auto.
- 8
Backup camera on AV-IN▶ 7:33
A 1995 car has no reverse signal, so the camera's yellow video lead goes into AV-IN and the camera is powered from the reverse-camera power lead. To see it, open the AV-IN app.
Tip: If your car has a reverse trigger, use the camera input instead so it switches automatically.
- 9
Tidy up▶ 8:34
The antennas make a rat's nest behind the unit; bundle everything so it slides back into the dash.
- 10
Fitment▶ 10:19
As a universal unit with the adjustments it gives you, it fits nicely in a standard opening.
- 11
Apps tour▶ 11:09
Radio, music (micro-SD or the internal storage), video, Bluetooth, phone mirroring, AV-IN (the backup camera), gallery, the option to install more APKs, an EQ with lots of bands, and Torque, which with an OBD2 reader shows RPM, MPG and check-engine codes.
- 12
Driving and factory settings▶ 14:42
If video shows black while driving (for a passenger), check the driving setting under extra settings. Factory settings need a code; John wasn't sure of it.
- 13
Boot logo and specs▶ 15:22
You can customize the boot logo (John chose Acura). About Machine shows the RK3566 processor and Android 11; brightness goes very high and is easy to adjust.

0:39So, I'm gonna uninstall the original one, or the aftermarket market one, and then put the
1:29in and on, and all I have to do is connect these right here, which is like five cables
1:37on, over
1:40to these five cable slash wires, and they're pretty much color coded.
1:47Some of these other wires are for steam the controls and I, I wouldn't just need that
1:51that so. So pretty much just match all of these colors up.
1:55orange of orange, yellow with yellow, and so forth. And you can solder them, or
2:05or you can twist a, you can just twist them, and then I usually use, some peoples than I use the electric the electric tape some people the people use these little of these little clips right here, so you can tap
2:20for my case, since I doe. So many of these, I just think. The electric tape is is the most reliable. So what
2:27what. I usually do is I usually just strip most. So just kind of strip it. So it has a little
2:37more twisting area. And then I just, there's a lot of ways you can do this to make
2:44it more secure. But I just like doing like this right here
2:49I kind
3:46of the head unit will dim. Other than that, that
3:49is it for the wiring. Now, I don't have steering wheel controls for my car so I
3:55need that. Again, for if you guys had to have more wiring
4:18and then this white one, which will, which will depend of your car, the adapter you
4:24buy off, of Amazon or something like that. That goes to
4:27your OEM, OEM harness in the back back. So we
4:31are
4:48plug in that harness
5:00click. And there's going to be other functionalities,
5:02but I like to test these
5:12but the, but that's going to be in the later time. I really just want to test
5:23that. Purple and green are going to be your rear speakers.
5:31And then I'll have it plugged in to the back like so your speakers and then you have your power.
5:39Now I'm going to have to kind of fish this back in here because
5:45it's not very long. We do have power, which is a good sign.
5:55See if you guys can get a better view of that
6:34Now right now I have a the Samsung Galaxy Galaxy Fold Fold 4.
6:44I see the device right there 5802 and I should be connected.
6:58Okay, now it's automatically take them to the Z-link
7:01see what it does from there. It says waiting. And we have Android Auto Wireless just like that.
7:17Alright, I'll try to do this. There's no sound, but I do have the backup camera installed.
7:23I have it plugged
7:26again, the connections, the connections are kind of loose. That's why it's not the best,
7:30but I just want to show you guys how it looks like.
7:33I have the camera plugged into the AV-IN because my car does not have a
7:39reverse signal because it's a 1995.
7:42I want to look at the backup camera. I would have to go to the
7:46AV-IN to take a look at that. Not a big deal. It's good to have just in
7:51case I am reversing. I don't want to hit the curb or anything.
7:54I like to reverse park
7:56but it does that have that functionality there and I'll show you guys how I wired it.
8:04There's one yellow that's plugged into the back of the
8:08the AV-IN slot. Other than that, that that's all it took.
8:13You power the camera with the reverse camera, you power the camera with the reverse
8:16camera.
8:18Which is cool.
8:20But yeah, it's pretty like that. I'm
8:23it. I'm going to wrap this up. We can go through the user interface
8:27when it comes to the install. The install was not very difficult at all.
8:30I really want to get my hands on all the applications that they're giving me right now.
8:34All right. Just look at this rat's nests. It's because of the antennas. But anyways,
9:13, the reverse camera that I was speaking about before and that's it. So it's ready to come back in
9:21in and look good. I actually I actually
9:23actually have nothing plugged into the back of this reverse
9:30the reverse camera. But yeah, it's ready to go back in and cleaned up. For sure. I just
9:41part when it comes to this but it's
9:45actually really easy. It's only it was only five wires and then you have a
9:49you're your camera, which. Which in those you might not evenre have
9:53other than these extra cables. Very easy install. All right. So we
10:09we have the head unit installed looking really really good actually.
10:14all the fitments nice make sure it looks
10:19but it's a and so anything you had universally with all the
10:24adjustments they give you you'll be perfectly fine.
10:55That's cool. I would love it if I can have the reverse camera a
11:04right now but you have your normal stations.
11:09three the radio app music is if you want to have
11:24music music stored into the micro SD card to the actual.
11:26the actual storage. of the unit. Some people like that.
11:30Storing all
11:31the music locally video is a self-explanatory same thing with.
11:35But music there's built-in storage
11:37as well as. Yeah, just built-in storage as well as well as
11:42expandable. So if you want that you get your settings we.
11:45you can go through that a little bit later Bluetooth is
11:47the applications we went through. Earlier.
12:20so it kind of mirrors on your phone into the head unit. the.
12:32AV-IN is what we talked about earlier that's
12:34my backup camera so that's going to be facing my garage right now.
12:38because I have the garage close gallery is just like how your phone has photos and stuff like that.
12:47you can install things like more APKs through
12:50um like Google so it's a very it's an a.
12:53Android device clock amplifier, amplifier, amplifier.
12:55this is how it looks like right here you all these bands you really customize.
12:59the way you want it the
13:20so you want to watch of the Netflix and stuff like that
13:23torque.
13:24you have an OBD2 reader so this can read like your.
13:27your RPM and calculate your MPGs and even get rid of check engine lights you have issues your car.
13:38you can actually use your head unit to see what your car.
13:41is doing which is really cool but yeah this is
14:04so let me see if
14:35having issues let me see if you it gets that boy info was for you
14:40okay okay so if you can't like if
14:42if it's black if you're trying to look at net watch netflix while driving
14:44driving for it for your
14:45passenger or whatever make sure that driving settings on extra settings I like
14:50speep that's the way I like the way I like to have it my garage lights are
14:55just turned off yeah here are your reverse camera stuff too and then factory
15:03settings I don't know the code but the code and you guys can comment
15:08comment down below 1,2,3,4, maybe 1,2,3 the code right there and then
15:22you can customize the boot you can customize the boot logo I want it to be acura because this is
15:25because this is an acura right there and you can customize it and so
15:30forth the lack is probably can save it and you can customize all these crazy things super
15:39customizable you guys probably worried about that but if you want to change the boot
15:43logo that that's something you guys check out and lastly about machine you can see the
15:50processor processor this is the arcade 3566 Android 11 there's a security patches CPU
15:58and so forth it feels smooth the screen looks nice would it be
16:09outside see if I can max out the brightness here so it's on the
16:18the lowestes crank that bad boy up really bright, and you
16:23can even turn off your the right your brightness slider right
16:32there cool alright guys so that concludes it if you guys were interested in this
16:45store if you wanna look if you have a specific model if you drive a BMW or
