Yes — you can install Dasaita on the 2013–2015 Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 with NTG 4.5 with a 23 min DIY job. Retain the OEM radio: daisy-chain the Dasaita harness (move the pink fiber optics), mount the 12.3" screen, set factory code 190627, then fix audio via AUX + external amp and OEM camera mode.
Overview
One of John's harder installs. You keep the factory Mercedes radio and fiber optics, add a huge 12.3" Dasaita screen, and pass audio through AUX. Most of the pain is trim (vent tabs) and troubleshooting: factory password 190627, TGW external amp ON, AUX position = 8 on the second tab, and reverse camera set to OEM — otherwise you get no sound or "no signal" in reverse.

Parts
- Dasaita 12.3" screen + clamshell
- Dasaita daisy-chain harness (fiber optic transfer)
- GPS antenna and accessory leads
Step by step
- 1
Set OEM radio to AUX first▶ 1:30
Select AUX on the factory unit before you tear into the dash so audio routing is ready after the swap.
- 2
Remove the upper trim and factory screen▶ 2:00
Pull the top piece (clips), remove two T25 screws, pull the OEM screen and unplug its harnesses.
- 3
Drop the vent / clock panel▶ 2:49
Push the hidden tabs on each vent toward the clock, pull the panel and unplug three harnesses. John calls this the hardest part of the install.
- 4
Unbolt the OEM radio (T20)▶ 4:08
Two long T20s up top — support the unit so it doesn't drop. Push the metal retaining clips down, free the small wire, pull the radio and unplug.
- 5
Daisy-chain the Dasaita harness▶ 5:25
Keep the OEM radio. Move the two pink fiber-optic leads into the new harness (listen for the snap), then plug OEM ↔ Dasaita ↔ radio so everything stays snug.
- 6
Fish the harness and power-test▶ 6:47
Skip a full glove-box teardown if you can — fish the main lead down and back up behind the dash. Hook GPS and camera leads, confirm the new screen powers.
- 7
Enter factory settings (190627)▶ 9:13
Code is 190627. Select NTG 4.5 / half-screen as applicable, then reassemble trim in reverse.
- 8
Fix no-sound: external amp + AUX▶ 10:37
On the OEM side (red + 1 + #): Hardware settings → TGW parameters → external amp ON, AUX audio ON, then System Reset (not End). On the Android side: Audio → count to AUX row 8 on the second tab; set AUX position to 8.
Warning: If TGW is left on internal amp you get silence. Always System Reset to save.
- 9
Fix reverse camera "no signal"▶ 14:45
Settings → System → Camera selection → OEM (not the default Aftermarket).
- 10
Pair CarPlay / Android Auto▶ 15:51
Pair Bluetooth normally; ZLINK / Phone Link launches CarPlay or Android Auto. OEM menu still works via the controller wheel when you're not in AUX.
Wiring notes
- OEM radio retained; Dasaita harness daisy-chained on the main connector
- Transfer both pink fiber-optic leads to the new harness
- Audio path is AUX into the factory amp — not a replacement amp
- GPS puck routed under/near the dash

0:02All right, we get a T-25 all out of the mess. You guys to make sure audio is working
0:09So we ran into this issue
0:11I just want to make sure you guys something to the issue
0:24What's up guys? It's your boy. We're gonna be doing an install on Mercedes e-class
0:29This probably would be my most difficult install, but if you know
0:34Happy holidays
0:35Anyways, we have the decided ahead unit right here kind of pre-unbox it a little bit
0:40Now this is gonna show you an instructions on how to do it because the Mercedes is gonna be a little bit more
0:45Involving but you're gonna definitely need the pass code and everything and just want to say
0:49Right off the bat. Do you guys see the code? It is
0:53190627 so if you're there for the password, there it is
0:57Got the good foam and then we have the head unit itself with the clamshell
1:04Well the shell piece
1:07To mount the new screen and a huge amount of harnesses
1:15Yeah, this is a huge screen massive actually, so it's gonna be
1:21Pretty involving install
1:24All right, so before we start something you can do to speed up the process
1:30It's better to put it in ox mode, but if you don't have an ox mode, there's a workaround
1:35It's just the way you should be doing this is having an ox mode first
1:41All right, so you're going down to ox
1:45Have it selected that way when we
1:49Switch it over all should be well. So I have my
1:53Father-in-law, he's gonna be helping me with this one. He's a
1:57Expert on his car
2:00So underneath here, there's gonna be two hooks that we're just gonna pull down
2:05Gonna remove the top
2:07These are just held by clips
2:13And this is just held by plastic clips and then you can unscrew these with some torque screws
2:22All right, we get a T25 to remove these two screws
2:27Just pull the screen out and then unplug the back
2:34harnesses
2:42These are on pretty good
2:44There you go
2:46My dad knows I'd do it better than me
2:49All right, so we expose that the next thing you want to tackle is there's gonna be these hidden
2:54screws right here
2:56We're going to have to
3:02You'll see these tabs on the side of each little vent and after that you'll be able to pull it out
3:08It's gonna be hard to see but you want to push these
3:14You'll see the tabs that finally it's just a little dark. You want to push it towards you
3:20towards the clock
3:22It's the best way to describe so which I can show you a clearer image, but
3:28Just how it is get the light and pull it towards you
3:39A whole lot of finessing
3:41It's okay, and then we unplug these three little harnesses right here
3:49This is the hardest part of the install just removing this piece
3:56After that everything's pretty easy
3:58So now we can access
4:08Okay, I then these are some T20s
4:13That you remove from the top some T20s. There's two right here
4:22You generally need to use them kind of like a ratcheting system
4:25Yeah, there you go. So you crack both of those loose and then you'll be able to remove the radio. That's it
4:36All right, so these two bolts are these two screws are actually really long so
4:41We are using this tool to kind of keep it up. Well, I'm screwing it because if you don't do that, it just fell straight down
4:48So yeah, just these two screws
4:51All right, so after we push
4:52We took the screws out. We actually had a push is like metal clip down or otherwise it doesn't go down
4:59So if it if it's not pulling out is should it require a lot of force it's just those two bolts are holding it
5:05So push these little metal clips down, and there's also a little wire right here that we need to remove
5:11And then the whole thing should just pull out and you just unplug everything
5:16That's something I recommend is maybe put
5:20Some towels or something to protect the interior a little bit
5:25All right, so after you pull it out there's this main connector and
5:30This is the one that we want because we're still retaining the OEM head unit. We are just
5:36Adding another functionality to it. So we just have to remove this clip
5:40Then we're gonna daisy chain it to the new one
5:47I'm Mercedes has this really robust clip
5:50that
5:53Make sure everything is nice and snug
5:56I've actually done some BMWs too that has these extra clip
6:01And yeah, my dad got it real good
6:05I need to get there are two fiber yep two fiber optics on here. You'll see right here
6:13They're in this pink color and we transfer to the new harness
6:18All right, so we unplugged it it comes in this pair and you plug it into the new harness
6:25Just like that you'll hear a snap so
6:28This is the
6:29New harness from decided and we're gonna be plugging it all into the OEM head unit the new harness
6:38Okay, okay
6:40Same with this now. We're gonna the OEM harness
6:44Now it's gonna be plugged into this new one
6:47All right, so for the harness you can remove the glove box
6:50We are trying to fish it because there's so many screws for the glove box that we just don't want to deal with
6:55So we just have a
6:58Wire coming from the top to the bottom and we are just gonna try to fish this main harness over
7:05You don't have to put everything. There's just one cable really with the head on it that we taped
7:14And it's just a matter of fishing that wire up
7:22All right, so we successfully routed through the cable we went down
7:27Then we went back up here and we pulled the cable and then we routed
7:33behind here
7:35So we had the wire kind of fish through here and then it shoots out through this
7:46All right, so after you kind of fish all the cables up
7:50We are plugging in and make sure it all works
7:54This one this white one right here the small one we have it hooked up to the top
7:59And then there's a little GPS antenna as well
8:02That you hook up right here
8:04This white wire we have it hooked up for
8:08That teal cable in the back because see that this one right here
8:13To the camera, I believe
8:17Oh, it's blinking red
8:19It's getting power
8:24And we are just testing this so we will unplug it because we have to put the trim
8:29So this is just a test. Oh, it's already on
8:32What the heck
8:34How's already on our info
8:52Okay, so you're not dry, right?
8:55So we have to see like this
8:57See?
8:58Oh, it's weird. I like it
9:00It's happening
9:05Oh, sorry about the glare
9:07Factory
9:08But I'm trying to get it without the glare. I need to my polarize the factory
9:13The code is
9:1519
9:170, 6, 2, 7
9:2219
9:25Still
9:276, 2, 7
9:32Okay
9:34God is blame
9:37Okay, so we just select the
9:42We are 4.5
9:47Half-screen that looks
9:57What happened?
9:585.8, that's a
10:017-inch screen
10:03That's 17-8
10:07This is a good time, right?
10:08Yeah
10:17Oh, there you go
10:19High-five
10:21All right, we're just going to wrap everything back up and reverse
10:25Pretty self-explanatory and then we're going to go through the head unit, so
10:30All right, so after we wrap up everything
10:32There's something I need to show you guys to make sure audio is working
10:37So we ran into this issue
10:39Just want to make sure you guys don't run into that issue
10:43All right, so to go into oh if you can hold that wall
10:48If you can go to this menu right here by pressing the red button
10:531 and the pound sign
11:00Because we were trying to enable ox and when we enabled the ox
11:05Um
11:06We didn't need to do enabled the ox to get it to work
11:09But we resetted it and then it actually got rid of our settings
11:13So we want to go hardware settings and tgw parameters
11:19Make sure external amp is turned on
11:24And I think the
11:27That's that's all you need to take a look at
11:30I don't think you need to take a look at any of these but
11:34Make sure the external amp is turned on
11:38Um, that was their parameters here
11:41We have ox audio ox turned on as well
11:45So make sure that's turned on
11:48But yeah, we were reading to issues where this
11:52TG parameters
11:54The external amp was it was internal amp and we had no sound and it was driving me crazy
12:00Um
12:02Yeah, and after you do all that
12:05You hit system reset don't hit end because it won't it won't save the the function out
12:11Another thing
12:13We want to take a look at is how do you get audio working for your android head unit side
12:20You want to go up here hit audio
12:23And you can count here one two three four five six seven eight
12:28So now we are an ox mode which will kind of bring up into this menu
12:33And you want to go to your settings too. I'm using the mouse wheel, but this is touchscreen go to system
12:39And this is to get the audio working remember how I counted one two three four five six seven eight
12:44go to ox position
12:45It was on the second tab so one two
12:48And we have it to eight said we have you're gonna have audio through this now
12:54Let's see
12:59So there's audio through this now. I don't know why the faders on the
13:13I need to see why the sounds that but that's how you get audio on the main system
13:19And you get apple car play and android auto
13:22Let me also go through some settings to if you don't have the ox position turn on go to factory. It was
13:31one
13:34One nine zero two six seven so one nine two six seven. Oh
13:42One nine zero six two seven one nine zero six two seven
13:48Okay
13:49go to
13:51So you're going to see all bunch of these options right here
13:54We kept it right there vehicles switch without
13:58We have automatic
14:00Other manual seats
14:02You want it if you don't have that ox you need to go into here and hit ox activate and go through that one settings when you hit the
14:10These three buttons and they enable that ox settings right there. So ox activate. We don't need to do it here
14:15For our 2013 Mercedes e-class we have this option right here
14:20So current selection is selected that
14:23Camper file protocol is right here
14:27After that there is one more settings. I wanted to show you guys that we were having issues with
14:32So I don't know like are the cars on so maybe turn the car on real quick
14:37When we have it in reverse it said no signal
14:42Let me show you guys how to fix that
14:45You go to settings go to system
14:49It was
14:52Camera selection. So you have three you can choose aftermarket OEM or 360 it defaults to aftermarket
14:58Which is weird but go to OEM and then you'll be able to fix that
15:03So there's the settings. I'm just gonna go through over the menus real quick. Oh, I can show that real quick here
15:09So here here are all the menus great
15:12HD video phone link mirroring
15:15Then so forth
15:18This is the original car menu and you can change this to an ultra-hour
15:23But using this wheel you will be able to this will act exactly like your OEM head unit
15:30Um, but remember you want to stick this to ox so you get some audio
15:34Also if you go to volume make sure it's boosted so you just get more audio going on
15:38Which is great here
15:41If you don't want to be that menu you can hold I believe you hold back
15:46It goes back to here
15:49You want to connect your phone
15:51After you connect your phone um
15:53I have Apple CarPlay. I'm gonna hook up my dad's phone. You want to do your phone
15:58All right, so we just connected it through bluetooth
16:01Bluetooth if I wish I can catch it you just pair it like a normal bluetooth device
16:05And you will automatically go to android auto. This is exactly what we want. This is very good
16:10All right, if you can do it the honors that
16:13Oh
16:22Now the screen's easier to see
16:25All right, everything works again. The sound was the biggest thing. I'm gonna go over it one more time from the top to the bottom
16:33You have navigation which it uses the GPS. We routed that GPS under here over there. So you can kind of see the puck right there
16:43and
16:44Yeah, it has its own little navigation system right there you get the music
16:51I haven't viewed it
16:55Everything sounds working there. You can skip and all that
16:58stereo controls are working, but I'm just
17:01Go through the menu phone connected. I have it hooked up to an s23 ultra. I also had it hooked up to an iPhone 15 pro
17:08Max no problem car play hooked up
17:12Easily car info is that little menu we were looking at earlier
17:17Um, yeah, it works. Uh, here's the audio
17:22So audio is working and if you want to go back just hold back
17:29It goes back to this menu right here settings
17:33We'll go that real quick video apps. Here's some apps if you want to check out the apps
17:38my dad does like using the
17:43Google offline maps, so that's something we need to play with zlink is the one we need for car play for me
17:49I just use car play and but he is he likes to do something different
17:54Some dashes right here. It actually does work. Let's see if
17:58That tar it toggles anything
18:01Into the show the rpm look at that. That's kind of cool
18:04RPM
18:07How did I get out of here?
18:09sport oh
18:12AMG e63
18:16You can see that or you can change it back
18:20So there's that option right there DVRs if you want to hook up a dash cam and that looks like it's it for all the
18:27Applications here. We've got theme settings. There is blue. So anything that matches this interior. I think
18:35I think this one kind of matches the whole it matches with the cluster. So let's let's keep it kind of similar to the way it was
18:44And we go into the settings here. We go to sound
18:47These are your equalizers. Nothing we need to really change their language
18:52Oh system right here in reverse camera hold the brakes
18:58There it is. We got the reverse camera in all its glory
19:02You can do note parking lines parking distance controls and stuff like that
19:08Again, if you were having camera issues make sure it's to OEM camera
19:13We had troubles with that
19:15So there's 360 cameras. There's a lot of things you can add you can mute it while you're reverse
19:19We don't want to do that aux position. We talked about a little bit earlier
19:23You want this to be on the this is the tab position. So there's like different tabs
19:28Media I believe is what the one it is because it's GPS satellite then media. That's why it's in the second tab
19:36Then this one is the rose eight rose down is the ox and that's what we have it right there unit temperatures
19:44We let's let's keep it Fahrenheit just to um we're here in America
19:48Select music app
19:50There you go if you want any of that
19:52We're not gonna mess with any of those settings. We'll keep it default navigation
19:57You can do the navigation all so my dad really likes the google maps
20:01So we can have it default to google maps or the one that came with the system
20:07All right, uh see
20:10Volume there you go. I just maxed everything out here
20:13Sound again the EQ we were talking about earlier language. This is how it looks like if you're interested
20:20I want to go too much time. You can do the 12 hour
20:24um
20:25See car time is it 528 528 so you can use it
20:28Let's use the car clock because it's gonna be more accurate and kind of match this one right there
20:33So that's good thing we did that system info
20:37If you need update all that goodness
20:40Android it's gonna be like your tablet android. Let's see if there's any system specifications and doesn't look like it
20:47There's brightness and all that goodness
20:50You can see your uh all this
20:53stuff
20:57Yeah, doesn't look like looks like uh the decided head units gives you about 50 gigs. Maybe it's a 64 gig
21:03Put a lot of movies in here if you wanted to there's also two micro SD cards
21:08If you want to put your micro SD cards to expand on the storage
21:12factory
21:13Okay, I keep forgetting the password. It's it uh
21:16one
21:179067
21:21and
21:22Here we're gonna go over one more time real quick. I kept this all default
21:27So I didn't change any of this stuff
21:30Make sure you get you get the stuff right there
21:35Vehicle
21:39This is the harming card in one gear selector mode
21:45front
21:46Plus speaker enabled
21:49All that goodness
21:52Ox if you don't have the ox enabled make sure you activate it here
21:56Card display that depends on your resolution. This goes all the way up to 720p on the 2018 models looks like
22:03Uh again 4.5. That's what we had
22:07Mike gain
22:09Custom exit time
22:11We're not gonna do anything that profile boot logo
22:15Uh, we'll keep it to whatever it was
22:17except
22:19You can import your own one so if you want your family picture or something like that
22:22You can do that there
22:24And yeah, that's that's it um apple car play android auto it's all here
22:30And you can play sounds at the same time
22:34This is a really cool head unit that integrates with the i would like to say mode selector right here
22:42But if you guys are interested in this product the cita has it here. I want to link the down links in the below
22:47Don't forget to do like comment subscribe if you have any questions in terms of troubleshooting
22:53Questions when it comes to what I think of this head unit audio quality honestly sounds identical
22:59So this is more just mirroring the screen up here and then passing it through through ox
23:03So the sound system sounds exactly the same doesn't improve it all but I think the sound system on this already sounds good enough
23:10But yeah, thank you guys for watching. I'll catch you guys in the next one. See you later
