Yes — you can install Dasaita on the Dasaita unit made for the Toyota Corolla 2014 2015 2016, left-hand drive only with a 17 min DIY job. Part 1 of a Corolla install: pop the dash trim, remove four 10 mm bolts, unplug the factory radio, connect the plug-and-play harness and CAN box, add USB, Wi-Fi and GPS antennas, find.
Overview
John helps the Corolla's owner install a large Dasaita screen in her 2015 Corolla. The dash trim pops off by hitting it from the side with a plastic pry tool or flathead and twisting. Don't yank it, because plugs are still connected behind it. Four 10 mm bolts hold the factory radio. Watch the sharp metal brackets, which can scratch trim. Unplug the radio antenna, steering wheel control, USB, camera and 6-pin rear speaker plugs. The Dasaita harness connects like Lego pieces: radio antenna, the two main plugs, the 28-pin (aux, reverse camera, steering controls) and the CAN box, which lets the new screen show door-open status and the A/C settings. The factory USB lead plugs into the kit's USB adapter. Screw on the Wi-Fi antenna and route the GPS antenna (John keeps it behind the dash with good signal). There are two CAMERA VIN leads, so test in reverse and swap them until the backup camera shows. The trim surround and final fit are in part 2. The Amazon, AliExpress and eBay links from the video description are below, plus the current Dasaita Corolla 2014–2016 unit in Dasaita's store.

0:00Hey so we have a Toyota Corolla. This is a very popular model and we have Marilyn here. She is
0:07going to be the helper here and this is her car. So why don't you give it a little unboxing and
0:13introduce yourself. Introduce yourself? So do you know anything about the android head unit?
0:19Nope!.. That's why I got you. What do you think of the quality? It looks pretty expensive.
0:26Nice. So this is the the side of head unit for the Corolla. So we have the PX6 that what that means
0:35is you have the best processor right now in the market. You even have you even have HDMI. Check that
0:38out Marilyn. Oh what the heck? So I don't know if you want to put your your nintendo switch on
0:54Oh we got the big old phone. They do a good job with packaging because you don't want these to
1:00snap during shipping. Wow that's a massive screen. Nice full handscat grab. Wow what?
1:10Let's kind of have it like side by side with what you have right now. Unwrapped it.
1:31Okay so that's going to be a big difference. Maybe you really could play games on this. Jesus this is
1:39like a 10 that's like an 11 or 12 inch. That's a really massive screen.
1:44This wasn't too bad but we'll see how this works okay and then you even you even have the cutouts,
1:48for your passenger airbag and then the hazard buttons too so that's really nice. That's fancy.
1:56Alright so to remove this head unit it's actually really easy. You can use
1:59a plastic pry tool or a flat head depending on how balls you are but you kind of hit it from the
2:05side right here then you just twist and it starts to come up. Really easy. Then you should be able to
2:13just work your way around and pull the rest of the tabs out. This should release all the tabs
2:19but be careful don't pull out because these things need to be unplugged and it's just being held
2:26by clips. No screws. Screws just clips. There you go. So remember the harnesses it's just
2:36two clips for your airbag and then you have your what is this a hazard button
2:41and that's it. Now there's some of these screws right here that we need to hit up. I think these are
2:46just 10 mils and this unit should be able to come out no problem. We'll use that tool before.
2:52Oh man. Move it left. There you go. So this is already loose. So do the next bolt.
2:58So there's four 10s and it should pull out. All right. So we have the screws
3:04the four bolts taken out. You just pull the whole head unit and this is where you
3:08have to be careful. You see these, these little things. This is actually really sharp
3:12and that could scratch your trim pieces. Okay. Can you help me unplug these? It's
3:18just a little pin right here and you just pull it out. So that's going to be your radio
3:22antenna. this is going to be your steering wheel controls. This one's going to be tough.
3:29This is your USB that is it could be your steering wheel controls too.
3:32That is it could be your steering wheel controls too
3:37Usually it's like a camera go ahead. Don't break a nail though
3:41If you're there, if- if you're scared, I'll do it.
3:46I get it.
3:48Oh, I can't do that.
3:50There you go.
3:51This is a six pin.
3:53Yes, it's six pin.
3:54So that's your rear speakers.
3:56So the head unit's out, looking clean.
3:59And theoretically, this is basically almost, we're almost done.
4:02We could transplant the new one in and we're set.
4:07So what do you think we have to do?
4:09Unfortunately, it's not as easy as you just take these plugs and plug into the back of that unit because that unit is like
4:15Aftermarket what we have to do
4:20They make it pretty simple is they make these harnesses for you Marilyn where you just plug it in
4:26So I want you to plug it then kind of like Lego pieces. I know it looks kind of crazy
4:34Looks, like. Looks like your car came with a CAN bus.
4:38So does there had you ever show like your doors open or maybe I don't know other stuff like that
4:46your doors open or your AC or anything like that. Yeah. Oh, so it shows your AC. So we're
4:54your your radio also like this new one shows AC too.
4:59That would be sweet. So that's where what this box does.
5:01So that's where the spot what this box?
5:03So why don't you plug this stuff in?
5:06Go ahead. You probably have no idea.
5:11These are the five plugs.
5:14So try to do your best. I'll help you with the first one.
5:17This one right here is the radio antenna.
5:19Do you remember which one that is?
5:21Are you holding it?
5:25It snaps in. Good.
5:28So I know these two are going to be it right there.
5:33So these two are going to be these two.
5:38Nice. This is this is easy, right? They make it easy. You don't have to know anything about
5:44wiring. You have to put it. Yep. Okay. That snap. And then you have these two more plugs.
5:53Let's get those accounted for. So that's a 28 pin. Usually it handles like ox reverse cameras.
6:00reverse cameras and.
6:02Whatcham I call it?
6:04um, serial controls and stuff like that. So yeah, I think it's that way.
6:10That's right.
6:12You're going to have some extra plugs on this side.
6:14I know that kind of like, what, why?
6:16So, um, it's because sometimes different model years, like your 20 years as a 2015,
6:202015, but a 2013 might have a slightly different configuration
6:24So I think this is the last one right there.
6:29Does it? It might even fit.
6:32Yeah, it doesn't even fit. Oh, it does. There you go. So that's all all the wires you need.
6:39We all we also need one more wire actually. It's going to be the, Dasaita came with the the USB cord.
6:47Can you pull the USB cable? So go ahead. So it's really nice that this this head unit still comes
6:57with a USB. That means you're still going to be able to use use this USB, which is very important,
7:01So there you go and it should make your charging a lot faster, too
7:07Wow, so
7:09We're done on this end these plugs were for what the air bay egg and then the hazards
7:14So we don't need we can kind of just push all this spew
7:24So there you go and it should make your charging a lot faster too well so we're done on this end these plug for what the air bag and then the hazard so we don't need to push all thisi this back here. All right Maryland so this is your accessories so you know how there's so many plugs on the back of this unit. There's no
7:27There's no USBs on the back of this, so you're just like, okay, where's that USB thing?
7:30okay, where's that USB thing? Where do I plug this USB in? Well, these these pins right here
7:36actually is a USB. So we just have to pull out the accessories for USB.
7:41Let's pull that bag out. Nice the USB. Nice. Got all the USB needs. It's a microphone. Yeah.
7:52There is a microphone on the front of this unit. But let's say if you want to get that better
7:56sound quality, like if you, if you want your microphone close to your face,
8:00then when someone calls you it's a little bit easier. That is an antenna. So you can
8:04screw it on like right there. You've probably never seen this before. You want to, you want to hold
8:13this in place and then screw it this way. Yeah. Go ahead. Hey, it's you're doing it, right?
8:26It's getting tighter. There you go. Perfect. So your system will now have Wi-Fi,
8:32system will now have Wi-Fi which is nice I just want to make sure it's not there's also the GPS
8:37antenna do you see anything GPS in there oh there it is so you want to take that out we, so,
8:48My and I really want to see what it does
8:53Same thing with that
8:55Kind of just screwed
8:56You couldn't go ahead
8:58Go screw that I'm just gonna talk so some people put this on top their dash
9:03good luck with signal, but just having it on top of this, it makes the install a lot easier too.
9:08Oops. Sorry. Yeah, that one right there. So that's one USB. And you want to plug that one into.
9:16Into this slot right here. So go forth. Okay, that's good enough. I think sometimes let's see.
9:25Yeah, it doesn't click in. It's already snug. Good. Good. Then let's do. Do the other USB. So I
9:30know your car only came with one USB, but we're going to actually put more USB's in your car.
9:35So you're going to have, I don't
9:43t know, more USB's. That's a pretty fatty one. So you want to line that one up right below it.
9:45So where the purple one is, right there. And if you're too unsure, it actually says on the top, too.
9:51Nice. And then those are, what is that? So we got the camera, the video in. So this is for
9:59your backup camera and stuff. Let's plug this one into. Because of course, having a head unit
10:06having a head unit without a backup camera is a headache so we'll plug that
10:12in right here and I just want to make sure so D is definitely what does D do
10:19aux in and camera in you see how the back of this one
10:23one has a the camera in and stuff it has two camera v in so I'm not too sure which
10:28one is it but this is where we kind of have the unit plugged in but not
10:40have them loosely in so far. Ça is where we kind of have the unit plugged in, but not fully plugged in. So there's two camera vents. We don't know which one is the camera, so we're going to have them loosely in so far. We'll have this one here. This one's AUX video.
10:46And then for your AUX cable, which is down there, do you ever even use AUX?
10:49No. Okay. Well, it's going to be these two. This is for your right channel and this one's for your left channel.
10:58And this
10:59. These are going to be for your subwoofers. Do you have a front camera for your car too? No. So we're not going to use that.
11:03to no so we're not gonna use that so we pretty much much have the basics in yeah
11:12so let's plug it in plug in the black one right here into the the so this is
11:19pretty much all of it right here
11:22Nice, nice and clipped in. this plug in a USB, any of those work.
11:35We're kind of just testing it right now, so we don't have to add in your radio signal.
11:52But, we're just going to have it kind of in here.
11:57Look at that box.
12:00There's a huge amount of space back here which is kind of nice.
12:05I think we don't have to worry too much about fit.
12:10Okay, that's uh, I don't know how it's supposed to fit, but um, go go ahead, fire it up, I'm
12:28nervous.
12:29I'm nervous.
12:30Oh, it's turning on baby, whoo, Toyota was good, okay so this is nice.? We don't have
12:50the trim surrounding yet which we definitely can get to in a bit. The man, so the first
12:58time you turn it on oh so it does show the doors open you saw that yeah so you're hard
13:01hard to have that previously too or no? No. So check
13:08Oh, that's it. Hey, who had the door open? Now you know. That is cool. That, that is insane.
13:17actually. That's so nice to have. Close. All right. So, um, a thing that we should definitely
13:27check right now is sound. Make sure there's audio. Nice. So there's definitely sound going through.
13:30audio, nice nice so there's definitely sound coming through and radio, 6.5, make sure your
13:46system is running properly. It sounds clear. Should we do it or should we wait. Let's wait
13:55on doing that. So it looks like it's working. I mean that's why just in case we have some
14:02That's why just in case we have some extra precautionary. Let's put the car in reverse.
14:10Don't press anything. Okay. So the cars, and this is in reverse right now, right? So right
14:15now it doesn't say we have signal. So that's the, that's like the camera. So if you could hold this and
14:20then I kind of plug in the other camera, we got to see which one's the reverse camera.
14:25This could be the, this is usually the most trickiest part of the install. Yes.
14:33So I just swapped the camera v in. And now we can see the camera.
14:38Did you have those lines before? Oh, okay. I was wondering if the steering wheel
14:44will affect the, uh, the lines. Sometimes it does. Okay. So yeah, that's, that's great.
14:51Turn on AC. Wait, wait, wait, let's just put it, put it into a park road.
14:56Okay. So there you go. Is you have AC on the screen too. I don't know how that works.
15:06You still have this, which you do, but I guess it's nice to have it. So it shows right here.
15:14You control it. I think it's just a view, huh? That's still pretty sick. I mean, it shows AC.
15:21It shows AC. Why is it on? Yeah, so that's nice. All right. I mean,
15:29what other features should we check? Let's check Bluetooth., named something. Name it.
15:31Let's check Bluetooth.
15:33Name this something.
15:35Name it.
15:36What do you want to call this? Memories car.
15:42Truits.
15:43You can change this later if you want.
15:46Here, we'll keep it zero.
15:51Your car is named memory. Zero, zero, zero.
15:55There you go. So it shows the metadata, the metadata right there.
15:58Oh yeah, I have to do this.
16:00Sweet, so it does work and then if you hit this, you should skip this song, there the song, there you go.
16:10And you you have this nice beautiful screen.
16:13If you drive people around, they're gonna talk about this.
16:16They're like, yo, why is this screen so insane?
16:20And it's really sharp huh?
16:21Was your screen as sharp as this?
16:23Like clear and the colors are just super the super vibrant.
16:26No, it's just mostly black, blue.
16:29Yeah, so you have all these colors and you can change all these settings too, so I think we're pretty much done here
16:31settings too. So I think we're pretty much done here.
