Yes — you can install Dasaita on the Dasaita 10.2" Android 11 car radio for Toyota Corolla 2014 2015 2016 with a 24 min DIY job. John swaps a base Corolla's radio for a Dasaita 10.2" Android 11 unit: two 10 mm bolts, plug-and-play harnesses, CAN box, Wi-Fi antenna, reverse camera, the factory USB adapter, and some filing for the.
Overview
A step-by-step, beginner-friendly install in a 2014–2016 Corolla. John pries off the side trim (two plugs behind it, including the SRS light), removes two 10 mm bolts, and pulls the radio, watching the sharp brackets near the shifter. The harnesses are plug and play: power, front audio and dimmer, the 6-pin rear audio, the 28-pin (steering-wheel controls), a 20-pin, AM/FM, and the CAN box that shows door-open and AC info. A Toyota USB adapter keeps the factory USB port. Satellite radio isn't retained. He tests power and audio in accessory mode, adds the stubby Wi-Fi antenna for wireless CarPlay, and connects the reverse camera to the REV-in lead. Moving the trim clips and hazard switch over is fiddly, and the unit sat about 2–3 mm off, so they filed the bezel down for a clean fit. Steering-wheel controls worked without setup.

Step by step
- 1
What's in the box▶ 0:24
Manuals, harnesses and the piano-finish unit with a diagram, Wi-Fi and AM/FM antenna connections, and accessories for extra USBs. John says you generally don't need the diagram; it's plug and play.
- 2
Pull the side trim▶ 1:34
Start prying from a spot that won't be seen. It's all clips, so don't pull too hard; old plastic gets brittle. Behind it are two plugs, one for the SRS light; press the notch to release them.
- 3
Remove the radio▶ 2:27
Two 10 mm bolts, easiest with an extension. Then pull the radio out and unplug each wire.
Warning: Don't drop the bolts into the dash, and watch the sharp brackets near the shift knob.
- 4
Plug in the harnesses▶ 4:32
Power, front audio and the dimmer (for headlights), the 6-pin rear audio, the 28-pin for steering-wheel controls, a 20-pin (it varies by model) and AM/FM. The Toyota USB adapter keeps the factory USB. XM satellite radio is not retained.
- 5
CAN box▶ 6:51
Plug in the CAN box at the white connector. It lets the unit read the car, such as which door is open and AC info.
- 6
Test power and audio▶ 7:37
In accessory mode, check it powers up and that you have audio. This base Corolla had no amp; a JBL-equipped car's digital signal may need converting.
- 7
Wi-Fi antenna and camera▶ 8:47
Screw in the stubby antenna; wireless CarPlay and Android Auto handshake over Bluetooth, then use Wi-Fi. For the reverse camera, connect REV-in from connection A to the camera lead. There are two camera inputs for compatibility. Route the extra USB to an accessible spot.
- 8
Reverse settings▶ 11:27
Check the camera in reverse. In car settings you can mirror the image and choose whether audio cuts when reversing.
- 9
Transfer clips and hazard switch▶ 13:05
Move the yellow and white clips from the OEM trim to the new one; the white ones are more fragile. Pop the hazard button out with a plastic tool and transfer it.
- 10
File for the fit▶ 16:33
The new bezel butted against a piece and sat about 2–3 mm off, so they filed it down (a Dremel works too). It no longer latches at two points, but the clips hold it. Ground the unit to bare metal.
- 11
Final check▶ 19:28
Fit lines up, the hazard button works, steering-wheel controls work with no setup, and door and AC info show on screen.
Wiring notes
- Power, front audio and dimmer (headlight) plug.

0:12What's up? Yeah, it's your boy John and today we're gonna be taking a
0:16a look at something cool head units. So always like of the Decida this one's
0:24going to be going in the Corolla. So we'll do a slight unboxing. We have the
0:29manuals of paperwork, the harnesses and the unit itself. Alright so here's the head
0:40unit in all its glory. It's really beautiful piano finish. It's very shiny.
0:47It does have a little the little screen protector on the bottom with the the
0:51side of brandy. Attach that there with the the newer style looks like they have
1:00the harnesses all right there for you. You guys got a diagram. Generally you don't
1:06really have to need a look at this. It has to be
1:07plug-and-play. Cool antennas, Wi-Fi, we need a screw-on. FM AM radio and
1:16tenon goes right there. These are the accessories that you'll you know for
1:21extra USBs and stuff which is in the box too. But this head unit is pretty
1:28stacked and it also shows the manufacturing date right here.
1:34Alright so I'm gonna remove this trim piece right here. It's very simple. I hit it
1:39with the side piece right here. You generally want to do it like a spot where
1:42you can't see because if you do up here people might be able to see that,
1:45so here you never have that issue and these are all held by clips so make
1:54sure you don't pull too hard because it is plastic and it could be brittle over time.
2:00So this side one is the most difficult. So I kind of have it right here. There's
2:09going to be two plugs. One for your SRS light. It just shows a light for your
2:14airbag and you hit this little notch right here. Again right here. Did you want close-ups of those?
2:22Oh that's fine. There's a little it's a little notch. Oh alright so there's there's
2:27two ten millimeters here two-tens. Hopefully my gun can reach it.
2:34Put this somewhere safe. So there's two tens right here it is a little hard
2:46to see but we just hit it from here. So how to get an extension. One thing is you,
2:55don't want to drop these bolts into the unknown because it falls under there. They're
3:02gonna have a hard time fishing it out and it's just, gonna rattle. So be careful when you
3:06remove, after you remove those it does just pull out. Now be careful because these
3:17brackets are very sharp and you don't want to scratch your interior so the
3:22shift knob is usually what takes the abuse. So just kind of pull it out and
3:26then you're just going to individually remove each wire. Now you're not going to
3:33retain all these wires. Some of these are USBs. Some of these are XM radio antennas.
3:40For sure there's no XM on the new radio which could be a deal-breaker for some
3:46but you could use your app or use your phone, carplay that that's something
3:53you want. So some of these are just kind of plugged in through the top so you
4:02really need to unplug these. So they kind of just loop. Just kind of interesting.
4:09There. You go right there. And now we bring out the new unit. All right. So we have
4:32power front audio dimmer
4:34dimmer switch. We can turn on the headlights. That goes to this one right here.
4:38So we're plugging that one in. So we get there. The 6-pin 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 goes to
4:46this one right here. 6-pin. This one controls rear audio which is great.
4:52This is a 28-pin. The 28-pin should slide in nice and tight. This generally does your
5:00steering wheeloi-steer wheel controls. So we got to need that.
5:03And this is a 20-pin, I believe. I don't know exactly. This varies between models. Sometimes it's a reverse camera.
5:12Let's see if we can plug this bad boy in. So every
5:14plug from, every plug from the OEM harness is plugged in right now. This is a USB
5:20which I don't know if we can retain. It depends on the kit. This is for, for the AMFM radio.
5:26So let's plug that one in. So we have everything. Besides, I think your USB is right here.
5:36Hopefully, I might have an adapter. You could buy an adapter on Amazon for $10.
5:41This is the Toyota adapter. We'll check the bag. It might be included here.
5:57So for Toyota, they do change it up. They have two years USB adapters.
6:02This one and another one. There's a teal one. So let's see if this fits.
6:09So you'll still be able to retain the USB factory USB option which is right here
6:15which is nice. You'll spe
6:27So everything from the back is plugged in besides this one antenna. And this might be a
6:35XM or just another. These circular ones are generally some kind of antenna.
6:41All right. So we're just going to plug in this harness.
6:51There's going to be this, this little white box
6:53or like white pin here. And we're just going to plug in this canvas.
6:57What this does is it allows your car to get some information from your car's system.
7:05Think of AC unit when your doors are open. You know, if you have a kid or anything,
7:10they open the door in the back, they'll say, hey, there's a door open in the back and it'll
7:14show that specific door, which is nice. All right. So just really need to plug in this and we're
7:21going to test if it works. So there's that. And yeah, that is enough for it to be powered.
7:33The USBs and the antennas and the back of camera will wire separately.
7:37So all right, so we're going to start the car in accessory mode and hopefully
7:42we'll be some power going on to this head unit. Yes. So we do have power. So the first thing I
7:49like to check is the power is working. That's a huge leap forward. That means the unit is obviously
7:55operational. But then for me, I like to have audio. So audio, depending on your car,
8:03you might have an amplifier. You see it says the the doors open. There was really nice.
8:07So we are getting that kind of information. It's huge. Let's see if we've got audio. So for audio,
8:18we are getting audio. That's great. Because some of your system, let's say this was a
8:22really high spec carola, you might have the JBL upgraded amplifier. That digital
8:28signal needs to be converted if we didn't have that. But because I think this is the base
8:34unit, the base units are really good for upgrades. You don't really have to worry
8:39about, so this was the original unit we had right here. Yeah. All right. So we have a little
8:47antenna right here. It's a little stubby antenna. And just kind of screw it in here. The reason why
8:55I'm doing this is because when you're doing Bluetooth, you don't need that because there's
8:59a Bluetooth antenna inside. But with wireless, our Apple Apple CarPlay or Android Auto,
9:05, it basically handshakes the Bluetooth. And then it uses your Wi-Fi. So it pairs for higher bandwidth.
9:12All right. So we recently just plugged it in here. We have the main horn is coming out right here.
9:19So this was the everything, everything we plugged in. Remember the 10 pin, the 6 pin, 28 pin,
9:24all that plugged in here. Now we also added the Wi-Fi antenna. This right here is what
9:30you need for the reverse camera. So from the socket A or the connection A, we want the rev V.
9:37I don't know if you guys can get that. Rev V. And you want to plug that into camera. The camera
9:41will go back to this harness right here with the 28 pin. There's actually two camera vins,
9:48two cameras. So there's one here and one here. The reason why they do that is because
9:52the Corolla might change in slightly different, like Toyota changes things. So they do this
9:58compatibility. So we're just going to use this one, obviously, because it's the same thing. It's
10:03like literally just a camera, but our plug plugged into that and we have it kind of moved in here.
10:09Next off, we have these extra harnesses. They generally don't plug into anything, but if you
10:14want a front camera, which we actually plug the reverse camera into front camera first. And it
10:19works as the when you go into the settings to the front camera, but we're not using a front
10:23camera. So if you don't want to hit curves or something like that, when you're doing that,
10:27you can you can mess with that stuff. But it's good. Good to have that capability,
10:32but we're not going to even touch that. And then we have this brown one plugged in too. Again,
10:35this one is for USB. And we have it actually snaked through here. So the let's say the
10:46Wi-Fi needs to charge their phone and is an emergency. You can plug in there. You can
10:51also plug in a USB flash drive or external hard drive. If you have movies or something like that,
10:57you just want to go on a long road trip. This unit actually
10:57has a lot of storage inside of itself too. I think it's something ridiculous.
11:06And then we have the other USB. It's somewhere back here. There you are. So the other USB,
11:13this is from the OEM. So it goes here and it goes to here. And the side actually provides
11:20that harness as well. So there's that. So
11:27can you hit the brakes and put in reverse real quick? So there it is right here. The picture quality
11:34is okay. It looks like something something out from like the early 2010s, but it does work. As long as
11:43you see your bumper and your thing, you're fine. Can you move the steering wheel
11:47real quick? So it doesn't it doesn't move. Sometimes that does move, but in this case it doesn't.
11:54And there's a lot of settings you can change on this too. So if you can get out of the reverse mode.
12:01In terms of reverse settings, you have to go here and then I believe it's car settings or
12:06something like that. So we have to look for it, but you'll be able to make it so when you
12:11reverse, like you can mirror it, you can turn off the volume. So right now it says
12:18reverse volume is off, but you can change it so it does nothing. So.
12:23What am I saying? I'm saying so when you're throwing a reverse, it cuts all audio off,
12:27but if you want to have audio, like it's kind of annoying. People like to have no audio when
12:32they reverse promotion. I guess it heightens their senses and trajectory display. I'm going to
12:38have the owner play with all these settings because, you know, it's just it's just too much
12:43much. We don't have time for this right now. Lots of settings. And for the most part, if I was
12:48an owner of the Corolla, I'm just going to go and car play and mess with the reverse settings.
12:52And I won't even touch anything else. But what next step is we're going to wrap this up,
12:58transfer all this stuff into here and we'll be done. All right. So we're going to pop out the
13:08original trim piece. So there are these like yellow piece right here. You see how it kind of comes
13:13in? I just pushed it in, pushed it in right here. And there's going to be so you, you push in here,
13:19out on this side. So it gets into this really loopy, loopy kind of situation. So on two pins here,
13:27and then the two pins right here. So you can kind of see the slots right here. We're going to
13:31then pop in the new head unit. But you might have, you have to probably transfer the pins.
13:41So right, see how like there's the two pins here and two pins there.
13:46But there is no a pin. So I'm
14:06plastic but it's kind of flexible. And you kind of just that's one and you're
14:20pulling it. You don't want to over exert it because then it'll snap. And then you want these,
14:24at least these top twos right here. But let's just do all of them. Oh, that one going off.
14:34So there's that. These white ones are actually kind of more fragile. So I'll be careful with
14:51these ones a little more. Try to do just two at the same time. There's a lot, they're going to
15:02help their shape better. The yellow ones are a lot more flexible. All right. And then you also
15:13have to, we're going to transfer the hazard buttons. So there's going to be two little
15:19pins right here and you just pop it out. And same with this, but you might need a tool to pry it out.
15:30So I'm going to use this plastic tool to pop it off. So you'll see, you'll be able to see the
15:36little notches right here when you just want to pop it off. So you see where there's
15:44little these notches? They kind of go right there. So, with that, this thing's strip clean.
15:51you can keep that safe when you want to sell the car, return back to stock,
15:56and we're going to get this bad boy. And you just do the opposite. In this case, we are just going to push
16:04it in. So let's get this little thing on. But you only get that snapped in real good.
16:23So I'm going to start from the bottom or the top actually. All right. So
16:33right here, you can see how we kind of sanded it down. When we were putting it in, it would butt
16:40against this piece right here and it would cause some fitment issues. So we shaved it down,
16:48which is a little bit weird, but I actually have the same issue last time too. You can
16:51actually still the plastic shavings. But I filed this down so now The OEM piece has two
16:57little a little little like connection points right here. Which, is lacking on the new unit unit. So
17:08it doesn't latch into anything anymore here, unfortunately. But the good thing is,
17:13clips are. So now we're just transferring the
17:20These little yellow pieces over so
17:23and just be careful. It is tough. And you just
17:44you'll get that good fit. So we're going to actually Soft ground it.
17:48it. There's going to be ground connector. What ground connector is this plug it in anywhere where that metal
17:56and you'll be set. So we're goinghang down the ground. Now we'll have a nice ground.
18:09Are done with the fit, let me just tell you this little
18:13head unit right here was actually kind of a pain. y look at the fitment
18:16on this
18:28, now what we what we had of what we had to do was was on this
18:30it, what we had was on this OEM
18:33a it is on this OEM unit was on this O
18:37was now what it is on this OEM
18:46This, this one right here too, it looks like it was set in the,
18:53but I would say maybe it was all set by, it looked like me or, the,
18:59it was off like, like a, like a millipedic, or two,
19:03like maybe three millimeters.
19:05So we had to shave off, so I mean, this is what we did.
19:09Okay, we just got this.
19:14do it but as an the example, we just did this
19:15and we just broke it, and then we just kind of filed it down like this. So,
19:20imagine if you just just filed it down.
19:22That I did. You can also use a dremel or something like that.
19:28The fitment looks looks great now, lines up all this works, hazard button works
19:58Yes, so all that's good. Yeah, that's it, if you guys were interested,
20:04Oh, yeah, the steering wheel, we have a steering wheel. So, let's let's show that.
20:08We didn't have to set it up.
20:10So, because
20:36and because
20:38it shows that the doors are open and as well as AC,
20:42you can actually see the little temperatures right here too.
20:44so there's a little redundant information.
20:46So,
20:59but go here.
21:02There's like vehicle information so,
21:04maybe,.
21:07So, maybe the OEM had
21:09A, it's
21:39off, b it features small screen mpg let me see if there
23:26literally blood so thank you're watching I
