Yes — you can install This kit on the Toyota Corolla 2017–2019, Tacoma and Sienna with the same radio shape with a 17 min DIY job. Pop the trim, unbolt the dead factory radio, move the brackets over, plug in the plug-and-play harness, then add GPS, Wi-Fi, USB and the reverse camera and test steering controls.
Overview
The owner's factory radio had stopped working, and its old matte resistive screen looked low-res anyway, so John installs a big Android head unit that drops in where the OEM unit sat. The harness is plug and play for this Toyota, including an adapter that keeps the factory USB port. After removing the trim and the OEM unit, he moves the brackets over (three screws each side), plugs in the 28-, 10-, 6- and 20-pin plugs plus AM/FM, and tests power and audio before finishing. The whole install took him about 5 to 10 minutes to that point. He stows the GPS antenna as a backup, connects Wi-Fi for wireless CarPlay, adds extra USBs (one labeled for CarPlay) and wires the factory reverse camera. Steering-wheel controls work out of the box. He calls the PX6 the most reliable unit out at the time.

Step by step
- 1
Check the box▶ 0:46
The harness is plug and play, so you don't need to buy additional harnesses for your Toyota. You also get USB and accessory leads (subwoofer, Wi-Fi antenna, microphone).
- 2
Look over the unit▶ 1:32
It's a big unit that goes exactly where the OEM one sat, with power, home, back and volume buttons. The back has the harness port, accessory ports, HDMI, the radio antenna, Wi-Fi and GPS.
- 3
The old radio▶ 2:22
The factory screen is matte and low-resolution with an old-school touch screen, and on this car the radio no longer worked.
- 4
Pop off the trim▶ 2:55
Removing the trim is pretty easy. It's hooked at the bottom and has plugs for the SRS light and the hazard switch. When you reinstall it, hook it in at the bottom first, then work your way in.
Warning: John cut himself pulling the trim. Mind the edges.
- 5
Unbolt and unplug the OEM unit▶ 4:06
Don't drop the screws into the dash. Unplug every connector behind the unit: press the tab down and pull. They all face up.
- 6
Transfer the brackets▶ 4:42
Move the side brackets from the OEM unit to the new one. It's three screws per side.
- 7
USB retention adapter▶ 5:37
The harness is mostly one piece. First plug the black USB lead into the gray plug so you keep the factory USB port.
- 8
Plug in the harness▶ 5:55
28-pin (usually reverse cam, steering wheel controls and aux), 10-pin (most of the functions), 6-pin (rear audio), 20-pin (varies, but plug it in), then the AM/FM radio antenna.
- 9
Redundant camera lead▶ 7:01
You may have an extra plug that duplicates the camera lead already on the 20-pin. You don't need it. The other two loose cables are the trim's SRS airbag light and the hazard switch.
- 10
Ground and test▶ 7:28
You want to ground the unit when you mount it, though there's already a ground for power. Put the car in accessory, check it boots and has audio before installing everything. It took John about 5 to 10 minutes to get here.
- 11
Check fitment▶ 9:18
With the brackets screwed in at the three points per side, push the unit in and bolt it down to check the fit before finishing the wiring.
- 12
Stow the GPS antenna▶ 10:24
John uses CarPlay, so he usually skips the GPS antenna to reduce clutter, but he stows it up high and out of the way with its double-sided tape as a backup for the owner. Screw on the gold connector snug, not super tight.
- 13
Connect the Wi-Fi antenna▶ 11:35
Really important: wireless CarPlay uses Wi-Fi. Screw it in the same way.
- 14
Extra USBs▶ 11:55
Untwist the USB leads and find the one labeled CarPlay. The plugs only go one way (four pins). Connect the gray-tip lead from earlier so the factory USB works, and add extra USBs for the owner, for example a dash cam.
- 15
Reverse camera▶ 13:12
Find the camera lead (the brown one here) and plug it into the D slot, which is the camera input. The RCA jacks aren't needed without a subwoofer.
- 16
Test reverse and steering controls▶ 14:40
Put it in reverse to check the camera. The steering-wheel controls are already pre-wired: next, previous, phone and so on all work.
- 17
Final fit▶ 16:16
Fitment is nice at the corners, with a small gap up top. Moving the brackets can help, but you might have to drill new holes since those are the only mounting points.
- 18
System specs▶ 16:57
The About screen shows a PX6 with 4GB of RAM and Wi-Fi. John calls the PX6 the most reliable unit out right now. It fits the Tacoma, Sienna and Corolla with this radio shape.

0:00Toyota Corolla Tacoma Sienna. It's just kind of held in. Boom. Look at that reverse. So beautiful with
0:08the steering controls. This thing is ready to go. OEM. Let's wrap it up boys. What's up guys?
0:20It's. It's your boy John. We're back again here with another video. Today we'll be taking a look
0:24at the the side. Look at. It's so beautiful. Now this works for the Toyota Corolla Tacoma Sienna.
0:34It's going to. You'll see the basic design. It'll fit exactly because Toyota made this kind of
0:40Toyota universal. So let's get to the unboxing. All right. So we have the box itself.
0:46This is what's going to be a plug in place so you don't have to buy
0:51any additional harnesses for your Toyota. They have you set. And if you guys were interested in this
0:57product I'll leave a. A link down below so you can buy it. Get the same one as me. Get the same
1:02reliability and support that I did for this one right here. And it's off of Amazon or their AliExpress
1:09store. So there you go. This is the
1:12This is the really nice foam that I like. More wires. This is going to be USB. It's
1:18like accessories stuff. If you had a subwoofer, there's a little Wi-Fi antenna, microphones,
1:23massive. So it's kind of like accessories for cables. And then we have lastly the unit itself. Now the
1:32unit itself is massive. So this will go
1:37go exactly where the OEM used to sit. You have power home back back. The volume switches.
1:45Here's is the side angle. Let's see if I can get a better view for you guys.
1:49Side angle. The back uses the harness. These are where they are accessories. And this is an HDMI
1:58radio antenna. The Wi-Fi GPS. Move to the side. Shows what it has. It
2:17of the unit itself. So let's get to it. All right. So we are in the Corolla. This one actually
2:24doesn't look too bad. It's around the screen. It does look like a really low resolution. Like
2:29something from like a Nintendo DS or something like that. It uses the old school kind of touch screen.
2:35Very matte. The screen itself is matte. It's not rounded. It's like that piano-black plastic. Kind of hard
2:42to see. This one, the owner says the car doesn't. The radio doesn't work anymore. So we're going
2:49to try to combat that and get this thing going. Removing this is actually pretty easy.
2:55You just have
2:56have to remove this trim.
2:58which actually
3:07to just pop this off.
3:09And then right here is what I was talking about. It is hooked on on the bottom of this. So
3:19I might not be able to have that access. But I might be able to just work around it.
3:24It'll be easier. There the going to be plugs for the SRS light and the thing right here actually holding just
3:31came off. So when you remove it, when you put it back, just have it hook in here first.
3:38Then work your way in. After you remove the trim, which only took I. and, like two seconds
3:44to two on,.
3:57I already cut myself. That was because I was removing the trim. So I don't want to block the camera,
4:06but I also don't want to drop the screws. So. What am am I going to do, right? After that,
4:15you want
4:32plugs right here. So just unplug all of them. It's actually pretty easy. There's these little
4:37things. You just press it down and then you pull out. And you can see they're all facing up.
4:42So shouldn't be a problem. All right. So the OEM unit is removed. We will have to transfer these
4:51brackets over. So that's something we're going to do right now too. It is just three screws.
4:58So I'm just going to take it off. All right. So we're going to put that somewhere safe. So
5:11I'm
5:11put that on the back of the car. Have the new head unit right here. I want to put that a little bit
5:18front and center, which is awesome. And then I'm going to get the main harness. This is what's
5:23going to be powering most of the things. I know it's kind of sunny. Hopefully I can make
5:28it so a little bit. You guys can see that little better. Sun's in there. Should I help fight a bit?
5:37So the whole thing, it's kind of one piece. Besides this, this one is a USB adapter for,
5:50so you can retain this USB. So I'm going to plug that one in first. So it has that
5:55black USB. Plug into this gray plug. There you go. Now we match up every plug. First, this is the 28 pin.
6:06Usually that controls reverse cam, steering wheel controls, aux. So we'll plug that one in.
6:14Next off, this actually controls most of it right here. This is the 10 pin. So you can count 10
6:20pins. Boom. Then we have the six pin. One, two, three, four, five, six. This one controls the rear audio.
6:31Boom. 20 pin. It varies, but make sure you plug that one into. And we have this. This is an AM
6:44FM radio. See if I can turn down the ISO so you guys can see a little better.
6:53Looks a little sharper. All right. So we plug that bad boy in, and then you might have an extra one.
7:01Now the extra, extra ones might be redundant for camera, because you can see this 20 pin has the
7:08camera on it. So this other one also has the camera on it too, but we're not going to use it because,
7:16well, we already have the camera one. So they just have redundant cables. Remember, these two
7:20cables were for the trim SRS airbag light and the hazard light. Now, since
7:28we have mostly everything plugged in, for the most part, you also want to ground it,
7:32which we're going to do when we mount the unit back, but it shouldn't be needed to power
7:40the unit because there's already ground. So we're going to plug this bad boy in. Should be like that.
7:54Let's fire up the unit. We can put the
8:04car in accessory. The reason why I do this is it's a good way to
8:05test the C if everything works. So the unit is firing up. That's great news. And then you check
8:10it for audio and after audio works, I like to install the whole unit. So it's like a process.
8:16Hey, make sure it works, turns on, power on. Great. So that's a good
8:23thing. Get the sound going, see if there's any sound, then wrap it up. Now, you guys can see the
8:28time. It's only 11.18. It's only been like, I would say, five, 10 minutes of me installing this.
8:34So this install. It's actually very quick, which makes me happy. So we got audio,
8:42which is what I wanted to test. Now we can wrap things up. Let's put the brackets in.
8:48Let's check the fitment and see where we can go from there. So now that I've verified that it works,
9:18I'm like that. I have a screw into these three points right here if you guys want to replicate
9:24and do the same for the other side. And you should have some great fitment.
9:28So I haven't plugged everything in. I'm just going to check fitment real quick.
9:32Make sure things look right on everything to look solid. It looks pretty good right there.
9:53So with everything pushed down and bolted, we should be good to go. So I'm happy with that.
10:06Take it out again. It says when it comes to fitting. These brackets could be, could be moved.
10:16All right. So the next off is going to be the wiring for the GPS and USB. And I'm going to show
10:24that real quick right here. It's real simple folks. So open. Open the baggy GPS antenna.
10:37What I like to do is I usually use CarPlay. So I'm not a big fan of using these because it
10:43just adds clutter to the install. But I am going to stow it somewhere in the back.
10:51If they are stranded and they need to use GPS antenna for whatever reason,
10:55we'll give them that option for the customer. And we already have it. There's a little sticky
11:02double-sided tape. And I try to do that at the very top, but out of the way. So it doesn't get,
11:12it doesn't block anything. So you just screwed the little golden piece, kind of like the old school
11:18antennas. If you guys are old like me, we used to do this for our Super Nintendo, for our little
11:26antenna, the coax. It's very similar to coaxial. Get it nice and snug. It doesn't
11:35have to be like super tight. Next off, what we need to do is we need to plug in the Wi-Fi.
11:41This is really important because if you use CarPlay, you're going to use Wi-Fi.
11:45So screw that bad boy in the same way, just like so. Extra USB,
11:55which is amazing. So we're going to plug this one. It's actually going to be labeled, I believe.
12:03So do untwist these and it's going to have a little label CarPlay. So I want this one
12:14to be CarPlay compatible. So I'm going to plug in. And these only go one way and this one has four
12:19pins. So you just kind of mashed up right here, four pins. And we're going to plug them. Remember
12:26that one cable we did way back when with this gray tip. We're going to find that and we're
12:33going to. We're going to plug it in. This one right here. So now if you want to use that
12:40USB on the bottom, we have it connected, which is great. And I'm going to wire extra USBs for the user
12:55here to might as well. And if they want to use for their dash cam, they can. So we have extra USBs
13:12for them in there. RCA jack and auxiliary. And we need to check the backup camera. If there's a
13:21backup camera in here. Nope. And see if there's a backup camera in here. Camera, camera. So it's
13:44going to be this brown one right here. You want to plug in wherever it fits. So this one is going
13:50to be on the D slot, which is the camera in. So these we don't need to use in this. So we're not
13:58going to use this one because we don't use RCA jacks will have a subwoofer or anything like that.
14:06And we want to plug in that camera then. So cam then to the plug right here. And
14:17we're going to plug this bad boy and put this thing in reverse and see if all is well. Now I'm
14:40going to hop on the driver's side so I can test this. So you want to check the reverse camera
14:48anytime you put in reverse. And we do have serial controls. I don't know if I can demonstrate
14:53you guys this. There it is. Next. Oh, this is the phone. Next is up and stuff like that. So
15:03everything's already pre-wired. St
15:03eral control works. Reverse camera works. I mean what more can you ask right? Boom. Look at
15:11that reverse. So beautiful with the serial controls. This thing is ready to go. OEM.
15:17Let's wrap wrap it up boys. All the boys. So you want to check the reverse camera.
15:40So our driver's side is plugged in. And we want to get the car to the side.
15:44So that's the right guy. And we're going to plug it into the reverse camera and take
15:53start it up. So we'll be in the reverse. I just want the car to be out and the car
15:56to be in the reverse. So that's about it.
16:05And I'm going to, the car to be on.
16:08ready to go. OEM. Let's wrap it up boys. Alright so the unit is in. It is looking
16:16beautiful. Very nice and let's just give it a nice startup and test. So the fitment
16:25right here is real nice. Fitment on this corner is nice. There is a small gap up
16:31here so if you move the brackets back and forth it should help with the fitment.
16:36But you might have to drill because those are the only mounting points for
16:43the head unit. So you have to have those new holes. Alright so the unit is in. It's
16:49all good. Here are all the apps, reverse camera, carplay. This is what we're
16:54going to be using the most. Kind of just want to show you guys the interface
16:57real quick. Just a quick. This is the SIDAS UI UI and it's pretty nice. I'll show you the
17:04system specs about model number using the PX6. I like the PX6. This is the most
17:09reliable unit that's out right now. 4GB of RAM, planar storage and it
17:13it has Wi fives. So awesome unit. Thank you guys for watching. I'll catch you guys
17:17in the next one. It will work for the Tacoma, Sienna and Corolla. So if you
17:21guys have anything that looks like this shape, chances are you're not gonna get it.
