Apple CarPlay Setup on a Dasaita Head Unit: Toyota Tundra 2007–2013 (Dad's Reaction)

After installing a Dasaita 10.2" head unit in his dad's Tundra, John sets up Bluetooth (rename the car, default PIN 0000), lets ZLink launch CarPlay, and shows texting, replying, calling and maps through CarPlay. If you have the JBL audio system, get the version with the CAN bus box.

Yes — you can install Dasaita on the Dasaita 10.2" car stereo for the Toyota Tundra and Sequoia (Amazon and AliExpress links in the video description) with a 8 min DIY job. After installing a Dasaita 10.2" head unit in his dad's Tundra, John sets up Bluetooth (rename the car, default PIN 0000), lets ZLink launch CarPlay, and shows texting.

Overview

With the Dasaita head unit already installed in his dad's Tundra (the wiring is in a separate install video), John walks through setting up Apple CarPlay and gets his dad's reaction. His dad mostly speaks Vietnamese, so the video has subtitles. Turn the key and start the truck, then open Bluetooth on the head unit. You can rename the car first (they call it Tundra) and pair the phone with the PIN 0000. After Bluetooth pairs, ZLink pops up and asks whether you want to use CarPlay, and from there it's the standard Apple interface. Maps, messages and audiobooks all work, and incoming texts show on screen with options to have Siri read them, reply or call back. Calls show the keypad, mute and other options. To switch back to the built-in radio, tap Radio; tapping ZLink takes you back to CarPlay. His dad says it makes the old truck feel like a new generation. He loves his iPhone but finds settings intimidating, so having everything work automatically is the win. John's verdict: fantastic, easy to install and great for iPhone users because CarPlay is wireless.
