Swap the dim factory interior LEDs in a Tesla for brighter plug-in replacements: pop each light out with a pry tool, unclip it, click in the new one, and add a Tesla logo projector to the door light (bend its pins slightly so it fits). This 7 min guide covers the Plug-in replacements for the small factory interior LEDs (footwell.

Overview

The small factory LEDs around a Tesla cabin are dim, and this kit replaces them with much brighter plug-in units. The kit comes with a diagram showing where each light goes, which makes the install easy, and the seller replaces defective lights. Each light pops out with a plastic pry tool. Push the clip to unplug it, plug in the new one until you hear the click, and push it back in. Side by side, the old light has a single LED chip and the new one has many, so it's brighter and more visible from the side. For the door light, John tried a projector version that shows a big Tesla logo on the ground. It's slightly taller than OEM and its pins sit a little higher, so he bent the pins down a bit with a flathead and it fit. He kept it because it's also brighter. The door and footwell lights are entry and exit lights: they come on when you open the door. The result is very bright without being obnoxious. The Amazon kit and an AliExpress light from the description are linked below.

0:08from Amazon, Vogue, RE-Tesla, Ultra-Rentier Lights.

0:13So we have the Model S and 3.

0:15So we can replace the the front and all these lights.

0:24just makes that install that much easier.

0:26What is lighting?

0:28We have these little LEDs throughout this whole car.

0:30This

0:34is for like Tesla style.

0:36So it works with model three,

0:37model X, small S.

0:38You can see how dim it is.

0:39And then we have something like this.

0:41That's much brighter.

0:42Now how do you get that brightness?

0:43It's actually very easy.

0:45Maybe actually close the hatch.

0:47So you guys can witness all the glory.

0:50So anyhow, we'll have the hatch close.

0:52And you can kind of see the difference in brightness.

0:56That one doesn't look like it's even lighting up.

1:02use that so you can safely plop it out and use unplug it

1:08by pushing this clip and voila so you have it out get your new one in it only

1:17fits and boom you're in nice audible click and reinstall it boom and you

1:25can see the older ones are like this, focus. You can kind of see the like a single LED chip

1:30focus.

1:31You can kind of see the like a single LED chip.

1:36And then you have the new one,

1:39while you can kind of see it, like so this one,

1:41you can see one LED,

1:43this one,

1:45you can see a lot more.

1:47It's definitely more visible on the side too.

1:53So here's the the projector LED.

1:56Get that nice and focus.

1:58And then you have

2:02the replacement upgrade LED.

2:05So these are both upgrades.

2:07And then you have the original

2:09with

2:10just the one single LED.

2:12And you notice that the R,

2:17so the one with the projector is

2:19going to be the tallest.

2:21Kind of makes sense.

2:23And then you have this one that's slightly bigger than the OEM.

2:27And then the pins are pretty much the same,

2:30And the pins are pretty much the same, but the pins are slightly higher in this one so

2:37Interesting.

2:39There's just a little clip right here that holds the bracket and you can just pop it

3:01and there's just a little clip right here

3:03that holds the bracket and you just pop it out.

3:05Pretty simple.

3:07And we're going to be replacing it.

3:09Easy mode.

3:14We're actually going to replace it with the projector one right here.

3:18I'm going to have to bend the pins down a little bit.

3:26Just going to use a flat head

3:33and, and then just going to bend the pins.

3:35So this is a little bit lower.

3:47Alright, so I've bent the pins a little bit lower.

3:49Let's see if it fits.

3:55And it does now.

3:59And I don't know if you guys can see that,

4:01There's a huge Tesla logo now, and I could replace it with the just the light thing or I can do this

4:08This is actually brighter than the thing I'm a jigger so I'm going to keep with this

4:15Now you can do it backwards or this way so I'm going to have it oriented so it's like this

4:21So screw it up and there and there you have it nice cool Tesla logo and you close it and

4:35when you open it.

4:37Very cool.

4:38I guess they can have an angle defending but I think of course I like it like that.

4:44So that concludes the Borg Buji, Bogy Rv Bogue very bright very bright very bright not two

4:56obnoxiously bright but bright enough so there's three over there yeah one of the

5:02doors another one in the door the footwells per seat so you get one right

5:08anyhow see

5:13these ones only pop up when you first get in there you go same with this so those

5:23you can't really turn on unless you open the door like it's basically an

5:27entry light and an exit light so when you it lights up same with the back

5:33seats there's all football lights down here got one and then another one down

5:43there finishing off you have one in the front but yeah if you guys were

5:54interested in buying these nice LED upgrades you might want to use two hands

5:59on that just look in the description below I'll leave a link where you can find

6:02Just look in the description below

6:05I'll leave a link

6:07where I can find all of those.

6:09And yeah, I think it's an awesome upgrade.
