A walkaround of John's modded Model Y: Adro-style carbon kit, coilovers, full-width taillights, auto door handles, yoke steering wheel, rear screen and more. This 10 min guide covers the Parts shown are for the Tesla Model Y. Several of the Hansshow parts are listed for the Model 3 / Y with tools, parts links and the full video.

Overview

John grew up on 90s Hondas, and this is how he set up his Tesla Model Y. He walks around the exterior (matrix LED headlights, Adro-style carbon kit with front lip, side skirts, spoiler and rear diffuser, a two-finger-gap drop on coilovers, ceramic tint, full-width taillights and auto-presenting door handles), then the interior (a yoke steering wheel, a suede console wrap, a rear entertainment screen and the third row). Every part he links in the description is listed below.

    Video chapters

    Step by step

    1. 1

      Matrix LED headlights▶ 0:19

The car has the black matrix LED headlights. John calls them the best headlights of any of his cars, S2000 included.

    2. 2

      Adro-style carbon kit▶ 0:36

An Adro-style kit with a spoiler, side skirts and front lip. John says the whole kit is pretty affordable. The aggressive front lip has small canards and really changes the front of the car.

    3. 3

      Lowered on Maxpeedingrods coilovers▶ 2:05

Lowering the car is one of his favorite cosmetic mods. He first ran about half to one finger of gap, then settled on two fingers all around, which is good for daily driving.

    4. 4

      Rear diffuser▶ 2:37

An aggressive diffuser that sticks out like a long tail, something you'd see on a supercar. John notes it is not for everybody, but it's the style he likes.

    5. 5

      Spoiler▶ 3:09

The rear spoiler is part of the Adro-style look.

    6. 6

      Nano ceramic tint▶ 3:23

All of the windows have nano ceramic tint.

    7. 7

      Full-width taillights▶ 3:40

When you unlock the car the taillights play a short animation. Other than that they look very OEM, with an added light bar across the back.

    8. 8

      Auto door handles▶ 4:18

The door handles pop out when you unlock the car and go back in after about 30 seconds.

    9. 9

      White interior + ceramic coating▶ 4:58

John says the white interior isn't hard to keep clean. He ceramic coated it (he has a separate YouTube Short on that).

    10. 10

      Yoke steering wheel▶ 5:12

One of the big interior mods. John calls the yoke the coolest part of the interior.

    11. 11

      Suede console wrap▶ 5:44

The center console is a high-wear area. The suede wrap is pre-cut vinyl that you just tap on, and it matches the other suede in the cabin.

    12. 12

      Rear entertainment screen▶ 6:19

Rear passengers can control the climate and heated seats, watch Netflix or YouTube, and charge a phone.

    13. 13

      Third row▶ 7:01

Legroom in the third row is pretty good, but headroom is tight: you need to be under six feet. John (5'11") can sit back there for a short trip.

    14. 14

      Final thoughts▶ 7:44

John grew up liking Civics and the S2000 and has owned both generations of NSX. He calls the Model Y great for the family and daily driving, and likes keeping it low-key black with small carbon bits.

0:00What's up guys, it's your boy John back again here with another video today

0:04We're gonna be taking a look at the model Y a lot of people be and what kind of kid suspension and everything

0:10So let's go over the exterior interior and go from there

0:19First off, I do have the model Y with the Blede matrix

0:25Yeah, yeah a black bulb matrix LED the best headlights of any of my cars

0:30S2000 included which is known for having great headlights now

0:36This is Adro style kits. I'll put the link down below. It's actually pretty affordable

0:42You can buy the whole kit spoiler side skirts and front for a pretty good price

    0:48So yeah looking down below

0:50It has this nice aggressive lip

0:54Have a little like Carnards popping now. You can also see my little camera right there

1:01But yeah, and my huge fan of that's

1:03This the front lip really changes the front of

    1:34Super sweet

1:35Now there's one mod. I might do in the future. I might change this to a piano black

1:44You can buy that for 200 bucks for all four corners. So 50 bucks every corner

1:50It would really change the look of the car. I don't mind it

1:53I guess carbon fiber is more like a black gray color, so it kind of fits

    1:59But there you go

    2:01sweet

2:05Maxpeedingrods or something like that, but I like below their name Maxpeedingrods

    2:10and

2:13I think lowering this car made it one of my favorite one of my favorite cosmetic mods because it really changes

2:19If looking from like a Ralph 4 height something actually pretty cool

2:24It's actually less finger gap than a model 3. I did two finger gaps all around first

2:29I had a half one one finger and then two two is good for daily driving

2:35especially when you do a kit the rear

    2:37diffuser

2:39Which is another part? That I will put down below

    2:43is aggressive take a look a bit

    2:47Not for everybody

2:50Just the style that I like it sticks out so much. It's like a long tail. This is like something you would see on a

    2:59Super car

3:00Because it it pokes out super aggressive and it is functional because it's it goes all the way back

    3:07super smooth

3:09The next mod is the spoiler kind of like the address though has a little

    3:14Again, there's, a little-

3:23And I did tint all the windows ceramic tint nano ceramic tint gotta do the best, right

    3:30I?

    3:31Did 30

    3:32bleed 35 in the front

    3:3430

3:35Or 20 other than 20's and all around after that

3:40Now these tail lights are pretty cool

    3:43Gotta show that

3:45Now these are Hansshow taillights so when you unlock your car it does do a little animation a little dance

3:53It looks very OEM besides of that dance animation. And of course

    3:58to the

3:59Cyber part I'm a fan of it. I think it looks good. I mean it looks OEM

4:06Like the shape of it and then they added this kind of, bar

    4:11so

4:15Yeah, I'm not mad of it

4:18so that's I'm not mad of it. So that's it for the exterior. Oh, then the door handles. When you unlock the car. They

    4:23pop out you can have

    4:25I

4:51I think 30 seconds or so is when they pop back in. Interior wise.

4:58and we got the white interior

    5:00and I gotta say

5:02They're not very hard to take keep clean

5:08did. Do some ceramic coating on the interior. If you guys were interested in,

5:12I did a YouTube short on that. One of the the big mods, here

5:21is probably the steering wheel or steering yoke

5:30There's a mosquito in here. I don't want to get bit

    5:44also

5:49This is like a high wear item area and it

5:52it just matches with the suede here and suede there. This was just a vinyl tape you just tap

6:00tap it on and it's already cut to fit. But yeah

6:07that that yoke is probably the coolest parts about the interior

6:11the screens also cool but that

    6:14yoke in the

6:17back nothing too crazy I do

6:19I do have a rear entertainment screen right

    6:22right there

6:23this control climate control control heated seats you can watch Netflix YouTube

    6:30charge your phone and

    7:01about this which is

7:03not bad for a small car leg room is actually pretty good the headroom is where

7:08it's you have to be under six feet so good on leg room bad on the headroom

7:16but for someone I'm 511 and I could sit back here for a short trip

7:25so if you guys were looking for a three row

7:28I mean it really doesn't take any space where the

    7:32three row takes

    7:34space in the two row

7:37it barely takes any more space because it

    7:39is now

7:40but yeah that concludes it right there

7:46this is the Model Y and

    7:50kind of how a

7:52guy from the 90s growing up I like the civics 2000

7:58course you saw the NSX I's I had gen one NSX gen two and

8:29for gas because you know gas stations could the model y is

8:37is a great for the family and just for it daily driving

    8:39anyways that's it

9:03but if you keep it kind of low key black the little carbon bits

9:08that's Wonderful you really need thank you guys for watching

9:12that's it from your boy John and if you guys are interested in the parts

9:22get the Model Y if you guys are interested in living your model and supercar

9:28dreams or fun car I guess works or
