Overview

A clean, no-dangling-wires dash cam that replaces the trim behind the mirror. Power comes from the overhead console through an included pass-through harness, so there's no splicing and no fuse tap. John also routes the optional rear camera and checks both feeds in the app over the camera's Wi-Fi.

0:05What's up guys? It's your boy, Joe. We got a fish cam for the RDX. It's the latest generation

0:26right here. So it's going to be real good because it fits right there. You're going to have a nice

0:33clean setup and you're not going to have any wires dangling. Everything is included. No

0:38splicing. You just take a little trim piece off. It should take about 10 minutes and you put the

0:43new trim piece on and we're off to the races. So if you guys are interested in this product

0:49I'll leave a link down below for the RDX and I also have it for the Acura Integra as well. So

0:56check out my channel if you wanted to look at the Pit Cam X for the Integra too. You can see

1:02how that looks like real quick but they've been super stable and I just like the clean

1:09look. So let's start with the install. Alright, so we have the Pit Cam X right here. So I already did

1:16the unboxing because it's packaged super well. I just want to be able to show you guys what it comes with

1:21with. Now I have the storage right there, the micro SD card, the front of the camera which

1:28kind of goes like this. It the front of the camera which kind of goes like this. It is protected

1:31right now. So make sure you take that off. And then I also have a rear camera as well and some of the

1:39nice cable cable management as well as in here there is no splicing needed. You just plug this

1:49bad boy in. It takes power from this unit right here and then you just plug in that piece

1:58and you're golden. So super simple. I love how it comes with some nice tools, especially this one

2:04right here, how high quality it is. You get the plastic trim removal tool and then a little bit

2:09metal one if you need it. That's extra. And then you also have a card reader inside that's

2:15included. Just super nice stuff right here. So alright, so to remove this you just use

2:25the trim tool that they give you. You want to remove the factory, just the plastics. Be able to

2:34pop it off right here. It's just all held by clips. So there's no bolts. It's just a matter of just

2:44prying it. So there you go. And that was just you just kind of pry and that piece is out.

2:57And then you also need to pry this part because that's where the why for the power. Now ignore

3:07this USB. This is from the previous install. So we don't need that. But it exposes all the stuff.

3:15So cool. I like how this has the metal side right here. We're using metal side to hit these

3:25lights right here. That's it. And now we can have some

3:35access to remove more of this stuff right here. So we can wire the, let's see if we can turn

3:44off the light. It's blinding me a little bit. Okay. So we're going to get access to that

3:59remember that power we were talking about with that wire. So we're going to use this

4:05harness right here. Let me see if I can up the exposure for see. Alright, so you can see

4:12the OEM plug is now plugged into this section right here. The harness that I just got from

4:18the Fit Cam Max is now plugged in here. And then we tucked that wire. We tucked it. And now it's

4:25coming out right here. So this is going to power the camera, which is great. And

4:30And it pretty much just kind of slaps in there. And then we can get it going.

4:38Okay. Now watch for the rear camera. And then remember the power is also right here.

4:45It's here. Remember to always pull this wire to keep it nice and tidy. And essentially, we're done right here.

5:07Alright, once it's kind of, it's clipped in, you can put a everything back. Remember this is for

5:17the reverse camera. You just see everything opposite. So it's gonna be a little bit tighter

5:23without harness. But we can still make it work. Alright, so we have it powered. And yeah, we

5:31have the reverse camera just so I can show you off right here. But we're using an Android phone

5:39right here, a Samsung and pretty much connected to Wi-Fi. And the password is going to be

5:4612345678. And so every time you want to view stuff off of the dash cam, you. You use, you

5:54connect directly through the Wi-Fi. And then you have your app. So here's the app cam x. And you

6:01can see that it's pointed directly here. So it's working beautifully. You got the test on the

6:08front. And then the rear camera, which we have right here. It's right here. So we were if you guys

6:18were interested, you're just going to have to tuck all the wire thing is upside down. Right

6:22right now. So it'd be like this or it'd be like like this. It'd be like this. And then you can

6:30kind of see right here. There the router all the way back, which does take

6:40time. And I just don't have time right now

6:43but you can see how it is as a mock-up. Super cool right there. And 64 gig storage. Yeah

7:10all right, that includes that concludes the install. We basically have it all tucked up here. Looks

7:18super nice. When up here, the wires goes like this terminates right here. We just pulled the seals.

7:25seals. We use no tool besides was it was included into the fit cam x, which was

7:34we have it tucked going from here and you can kind

7:38of see the wire right there in the back. When you pop this bad boy up here, you can kind of see right

7:48here. We can add another maybe cable manager right here, but there is some slack because we

7:53fix the seal right here. Basically it terminates right here. And then we have the camera feed

8:04wire going through this hinge right here. And you kind of see how it looks. But yeah

8:14that concludes it. It looks really nice and now we have a dash cam in the back.

8:21And you can see the limo tent. Super dark.
