Use the included fish tool and washer for the top mount on a shock-tower bolt, swap the lower bolt, and the hood holds itself open with a soft close. This 3 min guide covers the Acura Integra DE4 / DE5 Type S with tools, parts links and the full video.
Overview
A quick bolt-on that replaces the hood prop with carbon fiber dampers. The hood closes softer and looks more finished next to the engine-bay carbon trim. It sits a little higher than stock, but you can still use the factory prop with the struts installed.

Step by step
- 1
Thread the top mount▶ 0:49
Use the included tool to fish the fastener to the back of the shock-mount bolt hole, then sandwich the washer so there's plenty of surface to clamp on.
- 2
Tighten the top mount▶ 1:16
Screw it on until it starts grabbing. The fastener is held by tape at first, so pull the tape once it's threaded.
- 3
Install the bottom mount▶ 1:37
Unbolt the lower mount point, bring the damper up, and bolt it in. Nothing complicated.
- 4
Test open and close▶ 1:46
Open the hood — it should stay up with a damping effect. Closing takes two hands because the struts are stronger than the prop.
Tip: Fitment looks OEM. It sits a wee bit higher than the factory location.

0:08Link's down below if you guys are interested. Harvers is pretty simple. These are the dampers.
0:16It's going to go something like this. And yeah, it's carbon fiber. Pretty cool.
0:29Pretty simple. The shock mount right here. One of these bolts. And then you put one bolt on top.
0:36And that's it. It's going to be a quick video today. Alright, so I'm going to show you how to install it the back of this tool that's included.
0:49And we're just going to fish this to the back of there. And we just kind of do that. That way you can screw on.
0:58And also you can get the washer that's also provided. And you kind of sandwich it right here.
1:06That way it has plenty of surface to clamp it on. So we just got to put it under there like all like this.
1:16Screw it on. Alright, once it starts grabbing it's just held by tape. So you just pull on it.
1:31And now you have your top mount. And the bottom mount is pretty easy again.
1:37And the bottom is a lot simpler. You just unbolt this and you bring it up. Nothing too complicated here.
1:46Alright, so with everything installed you got something like this.
1:51It has that, dampening effect. Clothes looks a lot more luxurious. It's definitely
1:58it frees up that hood prop look. And then the carbon fiber definitely gives it a nice spicy look.
2:08Kind of matches the faux carbon fiber thing. It just cleans it up.
2:15Making it look a little more luxurious. I say it does sit higher than the factory location.
2:23Just a wee bit. I can't really show that. But it sits like a little bit higher. Nothing,
2:29not that much higher. You can still actually use the hood prop and the struts.
2:34And it's closing it. It is a lot stronger, so let me see if I can do this. Use two hands.
2:44I mean, it kind of behaves the way it should. Fitment looks great. Fitment looks great.
2:57Then, of course. I can pull up.
3:06Then again, just to show y'all.
