Step by step

  1. 1

    Empty the glovebox▶ 0:22

    Take everything out.

  2. 2

Release the damper and drop the glovebox▶ 0:32

Push the damper's little hook down to unhook it, then squeeze the glovebox sides so it pivots down. It hooks at the bottom, with no screws.

  3. 3

    Pull the old filter▶ 1:03

    Slide the filter out.

  4. 4

Orient the new one correctly▶ 1:43

Air comes in from the windshield side and flows downward, so the paper side faces the incoming air. The filter isn't perfectly square: one side is wider. Press it in so the foam seals.

Warning: The "UP" label marks how the housing closes, not the airflow direction.

0:00Hey everyone, I wanted to do a quick video on some car maintenance

0:04Cabin air filter I got my oil it's done changed by Acura then they wrote you on Cabin air filter

0:09I was 75 bucks. I said let me do it myself and save some money

0:12So I actually got a better one that's HEPA. So you got some carb activated carbon

0:16Well, definitely clean up some smell and stuff like that. It's really easy to do if you were looking to get this one

0:22Well, yeah, you want to empty your glove box which is shown here

0:28All right, so this is the glove box pretty much empty

0:32You can remove this little damper right here by just pushing it down

0:35It's a little hook. So you just push it down and you squeeze these little sides right here

0:40and once you squeeze the sides out it's gonna have some

0:44Basically a leverage because it is hooked on to the it on the bottom. So there's no screws

0:50You can see where it kind of latches on right here the little damper and then

0:58We have the little area it rests on now

1:03You can clearly see in video. That's good

1:06This is where the filter is and of you can tell they actually

1:10Took a picture of it, but they actually ripped my OEM one

1:16Because it wasn't ripped originally

1:19you can kind of see this is

1:21this car's garage baby pretty much and

1:25It's very dirty and my car I had 6000 miles

1:30So very dirty

1:32Let's get rid of it. Let me show you the one I got. I

1:35Got an Amazon came within like a day

1:38this side inlet

1:43Please remove sticker

1:45So first thing I notice

1:47It's a lot more heavy duty. You got the Activate Charcoal

1:52Airside inlet the airflow

1:54Basically goes up pretty much flows like this so, it goes down

1:59That's why the top is dirtier than the bottom

2:01So you want same concept right here. You want this to filter first you want the paper filter to go first

2:08put that in there and

2:13it is a

2:14Kind of side-dependent

2:16One side is a little bit wider than the other press that in real good. I love the foam gets in a nice seal and

2:23I have a little the little string kind of sticking out and again

2:28You can kind of see this is not a perfect square. This side is a little bit wider than the other side

2:35After that

2:37You want it says up here so that you know how where this thing kind of closes

2:44Don't get it confused where it says up. You would think that's the flow, but the airflow is on

2:52The filter itself and it kind of makes sense your wind shield

2:56You can kind of see my hand. That's where the air comes in and it kind of goes in like this

3:01So that's why you can kind of tell that's why the air in the top is filtered first

3:08There you have it that's it. Thank you guys for watching
