Overview
The flat bottom adds about a finger's width of leg room and the grip is thicker. John picked carbon grips because Alcantara gets oily from sweaty hands. Carismo has a good install guide, and their own video is linked in the description.

0:20What's up guys? It's your boy John. We are back again here with another video. Today we're gonna be
0:26installing Carizmo's carbon fiber Alcantara with the carbon fiber trim, this new old trim
0:33into the Integra Type S. It's a pretty simple install, just unplug the battery, remove the clips
0:44they have a really good install on the FL5 which exactly the same, but I
0:48I'll kind of go over mine and aim my thoughts, but yeah the steering wheel, I'll show you
0:53the comparison between this and the OEM real quick, so you can get the feel and the look
0:59if you were comparing this with the Type R or the Type S. Now I have the OEM one right here
1:07that will just have a little comparison alright so we have the OEM steering wheel on the right
1:16this is the Integra Type S the FL5 I believe it's a little bit lower quality because it
1:23doesn't have these perforations. The Type S gets a little bit nicer treatment. I actually like
1:29these little bubbles, the keep your hand a little bit cooler, but yeah. Then we have the Carizmo one and
1:39you can just tell by the sheer detail level. The detail on the Carizmo one is absolutely beautiful
1:47and insane. you have so much going on you have multiple materials it looks a lot more luxurious the
1:53stitching is also much brighter than the OEM and the OEM one it's kind of like that like that more subtle
2:01look what the Type S seats are actually a lot brighter than this red stitching so this is much
2:07much appreciated. Here's the carbon fiber trim and of course if you guys were just looking to get the
2:14carbon fiber trim alone and you can do some like this too it will fit. There's a little two holes
2:22right here so it the mold of this right here can slap on perfectly over there too so the Carizmo one.
2:32Looks so good. Let me see if I can have it both flat to flat so lined up a little bit so yeah the
2:47Carizmo is flat bottom as you can see right here. I don't know if you can see that but you
2:53get about a finger a finger more space for your leg room which I don't see a lot of people
3:03comparison there you go a little bit more room sides are exactly the same the top is exactly the same
3:14just one is more squircle on the top but it's still that's still that same round sheet you
3:21just get more real estate right here towards the bottom is hopefully I can that's picking up
3:28the camera and if you guys have rated type R slash type S steering wheel which I have in the car
3:43currently it will look something like this so same size as the other one it's just a
3:53a different material and the Alcantara on the Carizmo one is darker now I wipe this
4:03down all the time I try to keep this as clean as possible so yeah it is the reason
4:12why I went for the carbon fiber one is because my hand does get kind of oily sweaty greasy
4:18greasy sometimes it'd be nice to just hold right here that way or the the bottom that
4:24way I'm not holding the Alcantara all the time this does feel nice and it still looks
4:30really good but the Carizmo has thicker grips on the side and it's going to be it looks more
4:41expensive too looks way more luxurious and without being too it doesn't look tacky or anything
4:47it just looks like a higher end piece in the black Alcantara matches more of the
4:55overland color so if you're looking for overland designs beautiful now the carbon fiber it is
5:03gloss which is good for the steering wheel because it's a high touch point over time your hand
5:09will definitely polish out the matte finish I feel so I like it how it's gloss that way you
5:19don't have unaware like that's harder to take care of but yeah multiple the car it's gonna look great
5:28unplug the battery and Carizmo has a really good install guide I'm gonna just
5:40all right with the battery unplugged there is a little thing right here where you can
5:50unhook the bottom of the airbag so once you get that one loosened there are
5:57another holes over here that突 that one loose and I'm only pushing forward after that you want
6:10unplug all of them all right so I have a 10 mil right here now this is the best way I can do it
6:22because I'm not that strong and this is a torque wrench I get it but I don't use it to torque
6:27anything down I just I use a different torque wrench all right so once you get that loosened up
6:44this whole thing just pops out very nice and because we're transferring everything
6:51to the new one you got, you have to keep that in mind so we just unscrew these and transfer
6:59everything over the steering wheel controls onto the new one that's it all right so there are three
7:06screws one two three a little grounding right there and then there's some clips holding
7:12each controls unplug those and unscrew those three screws so after you remove those three screws and
7:20those plugs it's just a matter of pulling it now you can try to pull from the bottom that's
7:25like the correct way to do it or you can try to pull it from the top if you just can't get enough
7:30leverage and that's kind of like the way I'm doing it be gentle these are just held
7:39basically two of these clips as you can see right here so you want to pull this up
7:47it's just there's a lot of tension because it's riding on that piece right there there you go
7:58and uh here it is now I don't know if I know if I know if I know if I know if I know if
8:05I want to run full carbon fiber or keep the type s logo what do you tape what do you guys think what looks
8:11better to you the type s to bring some contrast back into it or keep it carbon fiber
8:26but yeah after that you just have to transfer these wires and the little springs right here
8:40I kind of feel I'm digging this right here carbon fiber oem piece on the bottom but again I do have this one
8:48I need it if I wanted to swap it back which is a beautiful piece of charisma so that's how I do it
8:55back to the install it's pretty easy you just tug the back it just held my clips right here
9:07and all the wires will come with it and lastly there are springs
9:15just kind of unclip them and transfer it to your steering wheel now what these things are is basically
9:23holds the airbags so all right so I have one side it's pretty easy just show you guys how to do it
9:33you just kind of pull it towards you and lift straight up it's kind of just like a paper clip
9:43to put it on you just do it in reverse put it in there and boom that's it it's really easy it's not too
9:52much tensioner or anything same bottom one kind of get through here and you want to make sure you get it
10:05through this little ledge now the oem oh it looks pretty nice yeah I just swapped this one over
10:13but to there's four tabs holding this little push clips you just gotta put some pressure on it
10:20to get it out it's got one two I also have a plastic remove tool so yeah you want to be again this
10:36is plastic so you want to be slow and there you go you have one of your controls
10:43and you want to pop it back in here
10:47so I'm gonna kind of do the opposite start at the inner part here and then just push it in
10:54and you got one of your switches do the same for this one and we can
11:04can keep going everything in reverse all right so there's a little pins to line everything up
11:11push it in and you kind of do everything in reverse put these clips back in
11:15and get those three screws in have everything seep nicely told you I don ay use the same one
11:23this is my more accurate go popped in our airbag make sure you plug in the ground wire
11:51and the two plugs and we're good all right plug in that battery that's when there's no horn
12:07or anything because it's unplugged but yeah let's get this thing going awesome
12:19forgot to do a little exit video so I'm just kind of do it over over some of my clips
12:23this is me driving it love the girthier style thicker and the flat bottom gives me a little
12:28bit more knee room amazing love the driving feel and just like the overall experience of
12:34having the wheel looks wise it's beautiful different dimensions when you look at the carbon
12:40gives you that nice flair and the extra just that chef's kiss but yeah if you guys were interested
12:46in this product I'll leave a link down below from charisma that's where I got it from and it was
12:49really fast shipping and they're so amazing like just to talk to because I had some questions
12:54about which one I should get, but yeah catch you guys in the next one, peace!
