Loosen the inlet hose, unplug the wastegate connector, remove three 10mm bolts on the OEM plastic BPV, and bolt on the billet Boomba valve the same orientation. This 10 min guide covers the Honda / Acura 1.5T / 2.0T / 3.0T applications listed by Boomba; shown on FL5/DE5 Type R / Type S with tools, parts links and the full.
Overview
A full-recirculating billet replacement for the plastic OEM bypass valve on the turbo. Not an atmospheric BOV — it stays recirculating so the car behaves normally with no CEL. Sound is a bit louder with a different tone (no classic flutter); most of the difference needs windows down even with an aftermarket intake.

Tools & parts
Tools
- 10mm socket (short helps)
- Screwdriver or driver for the inlet hose clamp
Parts
- Boomba BPV
- OEM bolts reused
Step by step
- 1
Clear the inlet for access▶ 3:50
The BPV sits on the turbo behind the inlet tube. Remove the two 10mm bolts and the upper fastener on the inlet, loosen the hose clamp, and unplug the wastegate connector so you can shift the inlet aside.
- 2
Unbolt the OEM valve▶ 4:59
Three 10mm bolts hold the plastic OEM bypass valve (including one at the bottom), plus the small reference tube. Crack them loose and remove the valve.
- 3
Install the Boomba valve▶ 5:54
Orient it with the Boomba text facing up, same clocking as OEM. It's fully recirculating. Bolt it on and reinstall the inlet and wastegate plug in reverse.
Tip: No aftermarket tune required per Boomba.
- 4
Sound-check▶ 6:34
Warm it up and drive. Expect a slightly different, a bit louder signature from the intake side — not a huge volume jump, and cabin difference is subtle with windows up.

2:01Boy John, we are back again here with another video today
2:05We're taking a look at the Acra Integra Type-S PRL intake more turbo noises, but what if we had more turbo noises?
2:18boom
2:19Racing right here. So this is going to give you
2:34Okay, maybe not that crazy, but it's not a
2:37Blow-off valve it's a bypass, so it's so it's still full
2:43Recirculating which is good because it's what this car needs it needs to be full recirculating or would be weird
2:49Check out the build quality
2:51Rass pissing inside holds up to 75 PSI. I can take anything
2:56The OEM one is plastic and I can show you where that one is. It's on the turbo itself
3:04So if you can see this little tube the tube right here
3:09it's right here and
3:13It's 3 10 millimeters
3:16Wish I can just do it easily like that if it was more accessible but for the most part you have to
3:24plug this
3:27wastegate plug and then kind of shift like move this intake
3:33Manifold thing out so you can get access to those bolts
3:38Then we can do some sound comparisons because that's all you guys are here for
3:42Doesn't make a difference to what it is, what's my opinion on them? So let's get to it
3:46Alright, so for you to get access to the boom
3:51Bypass valve it's this tube right here that kind of hooks up all these brackets
3:57you have to remove the
4:00This inlet
4:02there's two little bolts right here
4:04Their tens and there's one up top
4:07Loosen up the hose clamp
4:09Also, you want to disconnect this wastegate little sensor thing right here pop that out
4:16and then there's two tens kind of holding the
4:59Where the inlet is there are three tens holding it
5:03One two and the one at the bottom and then the little tube
5:08so
5:10you just have to
5:12Get, that some people
5:14Just use 10 millimeter here are the 10 mills
5:18There's a little short stuff you want and I like no rule
5:29Well crack it loose there it is
5:39stock boy
5:44you
5:49And
5:50Just-comparisoned the boom
5:52Oh
5:54So you want the boom I guess you can you want the boom the text facing up
6:06The way the orientation the orientation is the same
6:08fully recirculating
6:20Sweet time to install it in reverse
6:24All right, so it everything is wrapped up back together plugs and of course that's in all that
6:30And and yeah, maybe I'll just show you some sound
6:34use
6:35Pretty much gonna hear from the intake side so
6:40See if I can sit you guys right here without falling off. I can tell you it sounds
7:28Different a little bit louder not that much
7:32Yeah, I'm gonna let it warm up drive around probably drive around it's a little bit nicer outside
7:39Right that concludes the boomer
8:58Bpb bypass bell it does sound a little bit louder barely
9:03What you can hear the difference really is the tones a little bit different it does have the
9:08A little bit it doesn't have like like the
9:09Flutter because that's like the turbo's like oh, I get into it, but it does have a different sound signature
9:17from the
9:18stock one
9:20The volume is a little bit if I'm like screwing it just a little bit more
9:27You won't be able to the difference
9:30Most of the time from the interior
9:34Windows down and up
9:36You gotta have your windows down to really hear it even with the intake
9:40But it's a big difference in terms of, of that different sound note
9:44So thank you guys for watching if you guys were interested
9:47I'll leave a link down below where you can purchase the boomer. Anyways catch you guys the next one base
