Unbolt the OEM inlet (10mm and 12mm), fit the titanium pipe and PRL clamps, tidy the vacuum/bracket lines on the FL5/DE5 mounts, and snug everything down. This 9 min guide covers the 2023+ Honda Civic Type R FL5 and Acura Integra Type S DE5 with tools, parts links and the full video.
Overview
A titanium inlet that looks cleaner than the bulky OEM piece with its resonator. Larger diameter and smoother bends should help airflow. Paired with the PRL HVI, John couldn't hear a big volume change, but build quality is excellent and the engine bay looks sharper.

Step by step
- 1
Unbolt the OEM inlet▶ 4:07
Remove the bolts at the top of the tube and where it meets the turbo — John notes ~12mm on the bottoms and 10mm elsewhere. It's straightforward once you look at it.
- 2
Fit the titanium pipe and clamps▶ 4:39
Install the PRL hose clamps and the turbo-side piece. Keep the electronic wastegate connector oriented cleanly.
- 3
Use the FL5/DE5 bracket mounts▶ 4:54
The FL5/DE5 has a bracket that holds a vacuum line and other tubes. Bolt two 10mm fasteners there so everything stays tidy.
- 4
Use the PRL coupler with an HVI▶ 5:28
Even if your PRL HVI came with its own coupler, use the one included with the inlet per PRL's instructions. Snug the 10mm fasteners.
Tip: The finished bay looks cleaner and less bulky than OEM.

2:38boy John we are back again here with another video today we'll be taking a
2:42look at the Acura Integra Type S. Now if you're into more modifications, you really
2:48love the turbo noises the first thing you generally want to do is get an intake
2:52after that you can get a bypass valve or a blow off valve so for 100%
3:01recirculating is the way to go so that's what I did I went with the
3:04boombo one have a video on that and then you can also change this piece right
3:10here it's a it looks like a really nice piece very OEM but I kind of restrict
3:17it and it has this weird resonator that kind of I heard it kind of stops the
3:22sound a little bit so we'll make a comparison and I'll be the judge if it
3:26sounds good so let me show you the packaging from PRL itself I already kind of
3:32opened it because this they have a box just to hold the inlet tube the titanium
3:39inlet to so here it is and they have it nicely wrapped we have the piece that
3:49bolt onto the turbo nice and then we have all the
3:57bolt and poses with it too which is nice PRL PRL alright to remove this you
4:07remove these two bolts up here or on this right here there's one on top and then
4:15there's where the tube meets you'll see a few more and then I believe these are
4:2210 so 12 on the bottoms and then 10 here I'm not gonna bore you if you
4:27look at it you'll see how it goes honestly it's not too terribly hard I
4:32really just one do a sound comparison alright I'm gonna put in the Nure's hose
4:39clamps just the nes the hose clamps yeah so so the great thing about the
4:54PRL is the FL5 and DE files have like this bracket right here that kind of
5:00holds this vacuum line or whatever this tube is and then also just other stuff
5:05where you can bolt two 10s and it keeps everything really tidy and then of
5:12course the electric electronic waste controller just have to make this all in
5:19one direction just to be pretty and then just tighten it down and we should you
5:24good to go alright so after bolting
5:28everything in very easy to install again I used for the Hvi In-take I change out
5:40this one even though the Hvi came with its own one I used the one that's
5:44included with the inlet per-instructions I also of course you need
5:50that one right there everything snug them pretty tightly 10 mil right here that
5:55we're talking about just easier to see that with the this piece it's a little
5:59bit cleaner than the OEM one's a little bit bulkier and yeah these are the two
6:0610s I was talking about let's start with a comparison because that's what I'm
6:11interested here sure it looks like a nice bling piece but I actually really
6:16like the OEM piece so yeah if it's performs better and sounds better that's
6:23all the bling I need when those rolled up so
7:38build construction is great now the sound quality I can't
7:43tell you that it sounds quieter maybe louder I can't tell you either or I can
7:52for sure tell you it doesn't sound quieter like I mean that sounds good so if you're
8:03looking for a substantial upgrade in sound quality in terms of volume this this
8:09isn't it the PRL Hvi is enclosed so it's not like the most open box but
8:18no heat soak that's great and the turbo inlet on top of that does should in
8:24theory help smooth it out free up the the motion increase the diameter a little
8:30bit and I can't tell a difference in term of sound but maybe the comparison video
8:37can show something different anyways the the PRL intake with the PRL turbo
8:44inlet it's a good product it's a nice bling piece titanium that's cool but uh yeah if
8:55you guys were interested in this product I'll leave a link down below catch you
8:58guys in the next one thank you guys for watching peace out and keep going
9:03going forward not moving forward
