John's Integra Type S after one year: flush stance on 19s, tint and black roof, Milltek valved exhaust, matte carbon interior, Acuity shifter, rear A/C vents and a PRL / Hondata-tuned engine bay. This 12 min guide covers the Parts shown are on the 2024 Acura Integra Type S with tools, parts links and the full video.
Overview
One year after buying his Integra Type S at MSRP (with dealer-added carbon mirrors, an illuminated front emblem and a carbon duckbill spoiler), John goes over what he has changed. The stance on 19" wheels with 275/35/19 tires is the biggest game changer for him, with no rubbing and no TPMS errors. He added 35% tint, a black vinyl roof and a valved Milltek exhaust. Inside, matte real-carbon trim covers the cheap-looking factory plastic, and an Alcantara console with red stitching replaces the gloss trim that scuffed within a month. Under the hood: a PRL intake and titanium inlet, a Boomba bypass valve and a Hondata tune that John puts at about 400 hp. He skipped a front lip and side skirts to keep the car OEM-looking with daily-driver clearance. The carbon trim, hood vent and shark-fin antenna are linked in the description.

Video chapters
Step by step
- 1
Dealer carbon accessories▶ 0:28
John bought the car at MSRP, but the dealer added accessories: carbon fiber mirror caps, an illuminating front emblem and a carbon rear duckbill spoiler.
- 2
The stance▶ 0:57
John calls stance the biggest game changer on any car. The wheels sit flush but not overly so, with plenty of fender clearance and no rubbing. He runs 275/35/19 tires with no TPMS errors, and there's about a finger of wheel gap.
- 3
Tint and black roof▶ 1:50
35% tint front and rear, plus a black vinyl roof wrap. With the glass-black tint, everything flows from front to back and contrasts with the paint.
- 4
Milltek valved exhaust▶ 2:24
A valved exhaust was one of his biggest requirements. With the valve closed, the exhaust is diverted to the sides and muffled. The rear bumper is stock, and there's a carbon plate frame.
- 5
Matte carbon trim▶ 3:00
Red Type R floor mats, and real matte carbon on the door cards and the window switch panels.
- 6
Alcantara console▶ 3:26
His first interior change. The factory gloss trim was already scuffed after a month, so he switched to Alcantara with red stitching that matches the rest of the cabin.
- 7
Acuity shift knob and linkage▶ 3:51
The Acuity knob has more surface area and is a bit heavier than stock, so it feels more mechanical. He also has a stage 2 shifter linkage upgrade, covered in a separate video.
- 8
Carismo steering wheel▶ 4:29
Flat bottom for a little more legroom, in gloss carbon because matte gets polished glossy where your hands touch it, and to match the mirror caps.
- 9
Dash cam and radar▶ 5:16
The FITCAMX dash cam sits flush, and a Uniden R3 radar detector is mounted and powered from the same spot. Nothing looks tacky.
- 10
Rear seats and window mesh▶ 5:48
Carbon on the rear trim, plus OEM meshes from the Civic hatch / Type R that block more sun for a child in the back.
- 11
Rear A/C vent mod▶ 6:27
John's top comfort mod if you have rear passengers. It gets really hot in California, and it works like OEM.
- 12
Tune and hood dampers▶ 7:14
The car is tuned on Hondata at about 400 hp (per John). Hood dampers make it feel more luxurious, and he keeps the prop rod.
- 13
PRL intake and titanium inlet▶ 7:56
One of his favorite mods: the enclosed PRL high-velocity intake, which sounds good, has a performance gain and avoids heat soak. The PRL titanium inlet into the turbo is mostly a looks piece for him.
- 14
Boomba bypass valve▶ 9:01
A metal bypass valve replaces the plastic factory one. It's a better piston and sounds a little different and louder.
- 15
What the tune changes▶ 9:29
No more rev hang, better shifting and much better traction, since the tune lets you adjust how much slip is allowed.
- 16
Why no lip or skirts▶ 10:08
He cancelled a front lip and side skirts and is keeping it OEM for now, for the clearance over speed bumps on a daily car. He might wait for an HRC front lip from Honda, or the APR skirts.
- 17
Hood vent and shark fin▶ 11:26
Two last carbon pieces: a hood vent and a shark fin antenna.

0:00Welcome back to the channel.
0:10I have my Acura Integra 2024.
0:13This is the Integra Type S variant.
0:15So it has the better purpose.
0:18Now, what kind of modifications have I done
0:19over the past year for a year?
0:22And I'm pretty surprised that it's already gotten to this
0:24point. Let's focus on the exterior.
0:28I bought the car at MSRP back in of November last year,
0:32but they did add a lot of accessories,
0:35carbon fiber side mirrors.
0:37I have the front emblem that illuminates and so forth.
0:43They added a bunch of other things like that carbon fiber rear
0:45wing in the back or more like a spoiler duck bill.
0:50But you can tell from the front.
0:52I absolutely absolutely love the more aggressive front end.
0:57I think the biggest game changer when it comes to a car
1:00is the stance.
1:06I'm not sure if you can tell, but it's kind of flush,
1:13but it's not too flush, so it is kind of of poking out work
1:16right here.
1:17Fender, there's plenty of clearance, so I'm not rubbing
1:21or anything.
1:22I'm running on a 35, profile tire, 275, 35, 19.
1:26So this is a 19-inch wheel and no errors, no issues
1:30with tire pressure monitoring systems.
1:33It's a really nice setup.
1:34So you can see the stance.
1:38There's no wheel gap, maybe like a finger on the other side
1:44because it's on a slight incline, maybe a finger and a half.
1:48But yeah, stance-wise is good.
1:50I also got the windows tinted.
1:53I went 35% front and rear, and I also went with a roof vinyl
1:59wrap black.
2:01And when we get to the exterior right here,
2:03again, that factory dealer option upgrade,
2:07we have the carbon fiber spoiler, which
2:10is a nice piece, in my opinion.
2:11And I just love the way everything just
2:13flows to the back with the front to the back,
2:17being kind of that glass black tint.
2:20Just looks really good when your roof is wrapped,
2:23and it has a nice contrast.
2:24Now for the rear, I have Milltek exhaust.
2:28These things sound really good.
2:29And for one of my biggest requirements
2:32was a valve exhaust.
2:33So when the valve is closed it diverts the air and exhaust
2:39over to the sides being muffled.
2:41Also have a carbon fiber frame, and believe it or not,
2:46some people ask me, is this modified in any way?
2:49No, this is the stock bumper, which is awesome.
2:53Next thing is the interior of the car.
2:57So that that's it for the exterior.
2:58Nothing too crazy.
3:00Interior wise, we do have red type R floor mats.
3:09I also,
3:15So we have a real carbon fiber in matte finish,
3:19same with the door cards right here.
3:21We have one on the top and one on the window switch panels.
3:26And probably the biggest thing that the first thing
3:28I did with this car in terms of interior
3:31is I did change this to an Overland Designs Alcantara.
3:36So factory, these are gloss.
3:38And it was already getting scuffed up
3:40after a month of ownership.
3:42Switched it to Alcantara.
3:44And ever since it looks good, got the red stitching.
3:48Beautiful and it matches the red stitching here.
3:51Shift knob is from Acuity.
3:53Acuity makes some great products.
3:54They have the shift collar too.
3:56So just the feel, the hold of this shift knob
4:00is just better than OEM.
4:02Just more surface area to grab.
4:04And it just, it's a little bit heavier than stock.
4:07So it feels just more mechanical.
4:11I know this is a more performancey,
4:14but this also has a stage two
4:17kind of upgrade shifter linkage.
4:20So I got a video guys were curious
4:22on what I'm talking about.
4:23But the insides was all removed,
4:26put in new parts for the shifter.
4:29Also have the Carismo carbon-fiber steering wheel.
4:32Got the flat bottom and.
4:36Gloss carbon fiber.
4:38I went with the of the gloss
4:39because I feel like it's just kind of,
4:41I don't feel too bad if I touch it too much.
4:44Over time, Matt does become more glossy
4:48because your hand kind of keeps touching and polishing.
4:51So I kept this part glossy to match
4:54kind of like the, the, the caps in the rear,
4:56the mirrors and just feels good.
4:59I like the flat bottom.
5:00You do get a little bit more leg room.
5:02And then I have all the,
5:03if you guys were interested specifically on these parts,
5:05like the, the steering wheel surround shroud, all that,
5:09I have individual videos more talking
5:13about just the product itself.
5:16And then next off, what we do have here,
5:18we do have the FITCAMX.
5:21You can see it right there.
5:22FITCAMX dash cam.
5:25It, looks really flush.
5:28Awesome.
5:29Also, I have a Uniden R3 radar detector mounted.
5:34It gets powered from this as well.
5:37And it just looks very sleek and good.
5:41Nothing screams out,
5:42boy racer or anything too tacky in my opinion.
5:48For the rears, this is a,
5:50kind of like a family car.
5:51So you still have the carbon fiber going.
5:54Yeah, this looks really cheap from the factory.
5:56So having it in carbon fiber brings it up
5:59and makes it look a little bit better in my opinion.
6:01I also have, even though these are tinted,
6:04I went from the, with the OEM mesh.
6:07So these are OEM meshes.
6:08You can get this from the hatch civic or the type R.
6:12And they just mount like that.
6:14And they just give that
6:15extra visibility or lack of visibility
6:22or protection for your child in the back
6:23to just block out more of that sun, which is awesome.
6:27And a really, the biggest modification,
6:30if you do have children,
6:31if you can zoom into the rear vent mod.
6:34So the rear vent mod is probably top tier
6:37when it comes to just feature comforts.
6:42That is something that everyone should get
6:44if they have rear passengers
6:46because it gets really hot in California,.
6:50having that is just a huge plus.
6:53And it works like OEM, what else?
6:59So the rear kept it pretty and much the same.
7:02Nothing on besides the factory.
7:06I guess it's a dealer upgrade.
7:08And of course we got some toys for the kid in the back.
7:14Under the hood, I do have more modifications.
7:18This car is modified by Faroble.
7:22I'm on Hondata, his stage,
7:25I don't know, there's so many stages,
7:27but it's tune and it makes about 400 horsepower.
7:35Boom.
7:36So we have dampers that I got.
7:40I'll put a link down below,
7:41but they really elevate the car
7:43in terms of making it more luxurious.
7:46I still have the prop tool.
7:48That's something you need.
7:49And these can pop out pretty easily
7:51if you want to use the prop tool
7:52and get further extended.
7:55But yeah, this is the engine bay.
7:56We have one of my favorite mods right here.
7:59It's going to be the high velocity intake from PRL.
8:02They make great products and they're not overly priced.
8:05Some people love the carbon fiber, blah, blah, blah....
8:09, I don't think it's necessary.
8:11Like it sounds good.
8:20It has a performance gain.
8:22It's enclosed so you don't get heat soak.
8:25That's all you really need.
8:25They also have this coming out in carbon fiber
8:28if you're interested.
8:30Another piece I got right here
8:31is this PRL titanium inlet.
8:35So this is where the turbo.
8:36The turbo sits right here
8:38and the inlet goes here into the turbo.
8:41All right, there.
8:42So that looks pretty cool.
8:43Increases is flow increases.
8:45What's increased sound?
8:47Honestly, it's just look for like a look piece for me.
9:01A Boomba bypass valve right here.
9:04If you can see this little metal piece right here.
9:06So the factory one is plastic.
9:08Upgrade to a metal one.
9:10And the piston is just a lot better.
9:12And it actually sounds a little bit different
9:26and a little bit louder, which is awesome.
9:29So again, I'm on the Hondata tune from Farible.
9:34And they make, they, it really wakes up the car.
9:37No more rev hang, no more, just better shifting.
9:40And way, in my opinion, what changes it
9:46is the traction is way better.
9:48They's in the traction
9:50and you can allow more slip,
9:51because with the tune you can adjust that.
9:54See my Hondata video if you guys were interested
9:56in more information on that.
9:58But yeah, that concludes my Integra Type S.
10:03Beautiful stanch.
10:05Beautiful exterior, interior, not overly done.
10:08Now I was gonna get a front lip
10:10and side skirts,
10:11but they're a little bit crazy.
10:13I've also had so much issues
10:43So that's, so I canceled my body,
10:48my front lip from them side skirts.
10:49I was gonna buy a whole kit, but I'm glad I didn't.
10:52I'm keeping it OEM, until there are some HRC front lips
10:56that Honda might make.
10:58And also APRs make, he made,
11:00they made side skirts with it,
11:01with the front lip design, which I kind of like,
11:04but it is kind of race carry.
11:06So I'm not sure if I'm gonna go for anything.
11:09Stock looks fine to me.
11:11And it makes it have so much clearance.
11:14And again, a daily car.
11:15I don't have to worry about speed bumps
11:17or the or anything like that.
11:19But yeah, thank you guys for watching my update
11:23on my Integra Type S.
11:26Oh, I forgot, there's some few things too.
11:28I have the carbon fiber hood vent, check that out.
11:34And then I also have a carbon fiber
11:38shark fin antenna too, which is also pretty cool.
11:44Very cool actually.
11:46Thank you guys for watching.
11:47I'll catch you guys in the next one.
11:49Feel free to put some comments below
11:50and smash the like button.
11:52If you like Integra Type S videos,
11:54because I think it's a pretty cool car
11:57and it's super modifiable, so, modifiable.
12:01Thank you guys for watching.
12:02I'll catch you guys in the next one.
