John's early OEM-plus Integra Type S: H&R springs with 15mm spacers for a one-finger gap, a black roof, dealer extras, Type R red floor mats and a suede console trim. This 7 min guide covers the H&R springs are made for the Integra Type S and the FL5 Civic Type R, which share suspension components with tools, parts links and.
Overview
People asked for more footage of John's Integra Type S, so this is a walkaround of its early OEM-plus setup. It sits on H&R springs with 15mm spacers front and rear for about a one-finger gap; he kept the spacers square rather than going 20mm in the rear so it doesn't look too flush. The roof is wrapped black (wrap the small hatch section too), and the front is stock apart from the dealer illuminated black Acura logo. Paint-matched plugs fill the plate holes the dealer drilled. Inside are red FL5 Type R floor mats from a friend, illuminated dealer door sills and a suede (Overland) console piece over the fingerprint-prone gloss black trim. Under the hood is just a drop-in intake filter. John's take: the car doesn't need much modifying to look great.

15mm spacers and H&R springs▶ 0:15
The car has 15mm spacers and is lowered on H&R springs made for the Integra Type S and the FL5 Civic Type R, which share suspension components.
- 2
One-finger gap▶ 0:41
John measures it: about a one-finger gap, which he calls just perfect. The spacers bring the wheels out a little.
- 3
Why not 20mm in the rear▶ 1:21
Some people run 20mm in the rear because the rear arches are more aggressive. John kept everything square and the same, because going too flush can look off.
- 4
Black roof wrap▶ 1:46
The black roof flows with the body lines and the way the rear diffuser swoops up. If you wrap the roof, make sure the small hatch section is wrapped too, so it runs from the shark fin down to the rear hatch.
- 5
Front end▶ 2:22
The front is stock apart from the factory upgrade option he bought it with: an illuminated black Acura logo. He likes the silver Type S badge as is.
- 6
Plug the drilled plate holes▶ 2:50
In California some dealers drill the bumper for a front plate, and his already was. He filled the holes with plugs you can buy paint-matched to your color.
- 7
Ride height▶ 3:27
John calls this the perfect ride height and stance for an OEM-plus look.
- 8
Type R red floor mats▶ 4:00
Red floor mats from a close friend's FL5 Type R match the red interior and give it a sporty, special feel, though they're harder to keep clean.
- 9
Suede console trim▶ 4:31
One of his favorite interior mods. The factory trim is gloss black and was collecting fingerprints and scratches. The suede piece cleans it up and matches the shift boot.
- 10
Illuminated door sills▶ 5:21
Dealer accessory illuminated door sills look good at night. The car came loaded with dealer accessories, which is how he got it with no markup in 2023.
- 11
Drop-in intake filter▶ 6:18
Under the hood there's just a drop-in intake filter. John says it sounds amazing as is and the car is really fun to drive.
- 12
Doesn't need much▶ 6:44
You don't need to modify it much to look great. John likes the red interior showing through untinted glass.

0:00What's up guys? We are back again with another video, today we're going to be taking a look at the Integra Type-S and what has happened since I first got it.
0:09Now, oof
0:11Wanted to just go over the modifications and so forth
0:15Here we go. So this Integra Type-S has
0:24spacers on it, it has the 15 mil and it is lowered on H&R springs
0:29Made for the Integra Type-S and the FL-5 Civic Type-R
0:35They share the the same suspension components, so they work the same
0:41For me the fitment
0:44I haven't washed the car
0:46The fitment is great. It's very
0:50There's no more, there is still wheel gap from what you can see right here
0:56But it's it's like a two-finger gap
1:00Actually, let's get close and let's see how many finger gaps are there. So this is my one finger. It's actually a one finger gap
1:07one finger gap
1:09Can't really fit two
1:12One so it's a one finger gap and that really makes it
1:17Just perfect in my opinion. The spacers bring it out a little bit
1:21Now some people go 20 mils in the rear because the rear arches are definitely more aggressive
1:28But I want to keep everything squared everything the same and sometimes when you put when you make it too flush it looks
1:38It looks I call it
1:41You the go for that nexy flush style
1:44if we know what I'm saying
1:46But yeah, that looks beautiful. I also have my roof wrapped
1:51Black I think that's a really nice look
1:58It flows with the body lines and it also flows with the rear diffuser if you kind of see how it swoops up
2:06Then it goes
2:08So if you do get your roof wrapped make sure they wrap this little hatch spot, too
2:14That way can come down from the top the shark fin and then the rear hatch a little portion right there
2:22Here's the front end nothing has done I haven't done anything to the front it does have the
2:31Upgraded factory option that I bought it with the Acura logo
2:31illuminates and it's black
2:38Looks pretty sick
2:39Type s badge. I actually like it kind of silver
2:43That's how I imagine the type s and them should be and then we have I have little
2:50So my bumper was already drilled with a license plate
2:54Unfortunately in California some dealerships do that
2:58And when I got it they already had it. So I had these little plugs
3:03You can buy and the plugs are actually paint matched
3:07To your specific color. Here's the angle of the wheels. I think it looks nice
3:16This one I guess it's because it was slightly on a slope
3:20There's a little more wheel cup on this side and the Sun's hitting it
3:23The little bit differently
3:27Yeah, that is the for me perfect ride height perfect stance for that OEM plus look if you guys are interested in that
3:40Now the interior wise I
3:44Did change it up
3:46I got to pick a little bit of brighter for you
3:49So the doors are red at the red interior. I actually haven't taken off the
3:58Little plastics because they actually come in and out a lot
4:00So I have red floor mats. These are from the FL 5
4:04Type R so I have friend
4:07A really close friend of mine who has the type R FL 5. He doesn't use these sounds like let me get them
4:13Really matches the interior
4:15gives it
4:16it that nice
4:18Sporty, special-feeling
4:20Because I don't drive the cars too much
4:23I think it looks perfect
4:26It's gonna be a little bit harder to maintain
4:29And then we have
4:31Overlands, this is my one of my favorite interior mods the overlands
4:36Little thing right here
4:39in some day good
4:40But the reason why I like this is this is gloss black generally
4:44And I was getting a lot of fingerprints and scratches with the overlands
4:49interior mod
4:50Whoo, really cleans it up and it matches the same kind of material as the shift boot and the shift
4:58Man, like that bad boy
5:09And here's the rear interior just with the red floor mats
5:18again FL 5
5:21Nothing too crazy here. Oh, and I also have these literal
5:30Door seal of steel illuminations from the factory not the front hatch from the dealer ship. Etsa dealer accessory
5:40At night it does look good
5:43So it's kind of cool to have that
5:45This car is kind of loaded up a lot of dealer accessories
5:49So that's how I was able to get it for no markup at the dealer back in 2023
5:56the market's deafening softening and
6:18Well, it does have a drop-in intake
6:22filter and
6:25It just sounds amazing the way it is
6:27I really do enjoy driving this car and
6:30I hope you this car is really fun to drive and I've been to drive a ton of cars
6:42But yeah
6:44You really don't need to modify it too much to make it look great
6:49Some people will say get tent. I actually kind of like the red
6:52interior
6:54Popping out through the clear glass get that kind of they call it a little sunroom a little
7:03Doesn't really need to
7:05Looks great the way it is
7:07But yeah, thank you. Thanks for watching
7:12Stay tuned. I will probably eat more mods on this. I'm itching for a lot of things
7:17But the way it sits right now OEM plus
7:21It's amazing
