Free the shifter▶ 6:34
Press the shift-lock release button to move the shifter so you can get the trim off.

0:04Alright, so we have everything removed. So let me go over every plug. So we
0:08Tackle the 20 pin, the 10 pin, the 6 pin
0:12What's up guys? It's your boy John. We got a Toyota camera right here with the latest tech from iDoing
0:28So if you guys had a Toyota Camry that looks like this, we are going to put the greatest up pretty much
0:36So
0:38I'm doing one of my favorite brands
0:41the unboxing process
0:44Again, if you guys were interested in this particular model, I'll, leave down links below and don't forget
0:50Smash that like button while we get this started to unbox the phone they use is amazing
0:56So that cheap styrofo phone it comes with a prime tool kit so you
1:00Can remove panels pretty easily and these are all the harnesses now if you guys
1:06We're looking for a radio
1:08Double in infa came a system. This is the one to go for because
1:12It has Apple power play and Android auto wireless
1:16So the brand-new these cars came out in like 2008 2009
1:21And they didn't have GPS or anything like that
1:25So now everything's off your phone and your phone generally has the best GPS. So
1:30Let me use two hands right here
1:33So QLED display very high resolution. It's painted to match the interior of the
1:44Camry and this one particular model has 8 gigabytes of
1:50internal storage of 128 storage with
1:544g
1:56And with everything that I doing it also has OEM harnesses
2:01So you don't have to slice or it's just you unplug your head unit and you plug-in your new one. It's that easy
2:12But you said, okay, what's about all these other cables something that you could do is add a rear-back of camera and
2:19so forth
2:21This is for the antenna for the if you want to put a SIM card
2:27GPS antenna it has its own GPS built-in think of it like a Garmin or Tom Tom
2:33If you need navigation again nowadays, I just use my phone for its navigation. Here are the SIM card
2:41Reader where you could actually actual SIM card extra USBs. So now your car will be able to have USB's and
2:48some other various harnesses for
2:53Wi-Fi and
2:55Then if you want to put a reverse camera
2:58now this kit that I bought does not include a camera
3:01But it's very easy to install a reverse camera when it comes with a reverse camera if you know about these yellow RCA jacks
3:08This will be the RCA jack for it'll say it be labeled camera bin or camera in
3:14You just plug that RCA jack and then you have a one wire one red to power the camera and one black to
3:23Provide continuity for the camera
3:26Now if you're doing subwoofers and whatnot here you go you have this is a microphone
3:33But there's also the RCA jacks for
3:37left front rear front. I guess rear right rear left and
3:45Yeah, that's it
3:47So I doing latest one. It looks beautiful
3:51My this customer here opted for a cleaner front look
3:55So there's no buns on the side so you get a bigger screen and less bezels
4:00So that's what he wanted and this really gets now without the bubble
4:05Buns on the side. It does look cleaner. So
4:08Yeah, I'm gonna cut to a footage of me removing the OEM head unit, and then we'll go to
4:16Us installing this one in the present
4:18First thing you need to do is you can remove the shift knob
4:22You're gonna have to remove this whole
4:27Trimpiece and I know it sounds kind of frightening, but it's very easy
4:30So to unscrew you lefty loosey it that bad boys comes out
4:39So put that somewhere safe and want to put on the passenger seat next thing off. Is you just pull for this
4:45You just grab it and pull and there are two clips. They're just plastic clips
4:51So it's looking too strong
4:54Grab and pull and that's gonna reveal two
4:57Philip screws, which we will have to unscrew so
5:01Get the tool
5:03This is a little small one. So I had a little more of a smaller
5:08I like using small screwdrivers because inside a car
5:13There's not a lot room these screws you definitely want to keep in a safe place
5:19Usually I put these in a cup holder. It's gonna
5:23Put in a cup holder because it does have a door. So maybe it won't get lost. So now you can pull this out
5:30But you have this trim down here blocking it
5:55I'll show you where the clips are at so it makes more sense
5:59So there you go the clips there's three clips up here
6:03And then there's the two clips that kind of you kind of put it down and it goes in
6:08So you kind of want to start. I like starting from here
6:12So you saw where I pulled it from this shifter because these clips right here are a lot weaker
6:18And it's away from the Sprite point
6:20So now that with that piece gone
6:23We can go further
6:26All right, so the next step is
6:29We can try to pull this out, but we're gonna have issues with this shifter
6:34So with the shifter lever here, you're gonna see a little button right here
6:38Now make sure your car is in
6:41It's in park right now
6:43But you need to have your parking brake engaged and the parking brake is on the left of your brake pedal
6:49Have that pushed down because when you shift it to in
6:52Into gear
6:54You I mean you're not you're not in parking anymore so keep that in mind too when you start your car sometimes other cars
7:01will detect that and
7:03They won't bother you with it, but so you're gonna have that and we're gonna have to
7:12Remove this trim too
7:14So I'm not using the plastic tool trim. I'm just using my hands
7:27You really don't need it
7:29For this car and what I pulled was right here. There's a little gap right here a little seam and
7:38It's kind of hard to get in camera just pull that out. Now. There is wires for the
7:49cigarette lighter
7:51But boom look at that
7:54All the guts exposed. I know the lighting is a little bit harsh
8:01But you know bear with me
8:04The clips on this right here if you guys have a hard time
8:08is
8:09Right here
8:10and this is where I pulled in this section right here where it's a little bit weak these clips aren't as strong as these yellow clips
8:17Right here, so try to pull from this one and I pulled from both sides
8:22Straight up. Okay, it's so
8:27Now that we had that out of the way you don't have to unplug it. You can just kind of twist it like this
8:36And then we just have to remove this piece right here the reason why we have to remove this piece right here
8:42Which just slide out a little bit and then you'll be able to unplug the cigarette lighter
8:48And then he also has an oxport both used to be very useful at the time
8:56Not so much anymore. Now. These are these ports are held by clips
9:03So the there's a little plug on the back of them
9:07And you just the you just unplug them and this is how the plugs look like and you can see there's little clips
9:21Sorry, there's little clips and you just squeeze it and
9:24And then pull the cable out squeeze it pull the cable out and I was saying this now reveals the two 10 millimeter bolts down here
9:36So we finally got it what holds this head unit together is two 10s right here and two 10s above here, and that's it, so
9:47Alright
9:48so
9:49You can see that but this is a real point of view. So we looking in
9:56Now you'll see a 10 somewhere around here and a 10 somewhere on here
10:00So there's two of them remove those and we are done on the bottom
10:08About a boom
10:19About a beacon one more to go your fingers and
10:24Ta-da, that's exactly what you
10:26Good thing. I still see it make sure you don't lose these in the cab burn
10:34Now the top piece is a little bit more
10:38Risky I say risky because this the Toyota trim right here this dashboard
10:44It's there was a recall on it because it's not very good
10:48It gets kind of gooey and it kind of breaks down so the the plastic or whatever they use you here
10:54It it like deforms and stuff so when you're prying at it try to be very careful
11:01You're gonna have to pry this open somehow without damaging your dash
11:07so
11:08Just kind of go easy at first see how the dash takes it so it's it's because of Toyota and
11:20Quality on their dash
11:22This one seems good. I kind of taking it slow
11:29My little trim tool. Yes, you can use a flathead, but for this part
11:34I would definitely try to find a plastic pry tool
11:37Which is included
11:39At least in my I doing kit. There you go
11:54Somehow some way this event stayed on it pull that off
12:10Okay, as the end has popped his vent back in
12:16so the way these vents work is there's little tabs and
12:22Push it back in
12:24Now he's gonna give you that there you go and make sure it's clipped onto here
12:33There you go
12:37so yeah, I would say that's the hardest part and
12:41What was great is there was no damage to the dash
12:47and
12:48Get close up so you guys can see it reveals to tens right there
12:54See if I can brighten it up for you guys can see
12:57one
12:58two
13:00So let's remove those and we should be golden. All right, so
13:14After you remove the two bolts up top and the two bolts down below
13:18This is where things
13:20Go a little more you think it's put some muscle into it. We call this the pray and pull
13:26That just means be careful when you're pulling it. Nothing else is holding it besides clips
13:31And you just pull which I just did now
13:34I'd like to put a little microfiber towel to kind of
13:37Help any like if it falls down or something like that it protects like the paint
13:42here
13:44So you just pull it down and that just reveals all the plugs now
13:50It's in an awkward angle
13:51So I
13:52Have to just pull it out and you guys are just gonna have to do that on your own without me can really sing it but I
14:00Will pull
14:06One two three so there's three plugs on the head unit and then now there's two more antennas on the head unit so
14:19one two and
14:21Don't forget. We are also messing with the AC on the below
14:26So we're gonna have to unplug the AC which is a great plug and
14:35Walla, that's it. So let me show you guys again
14:41There's I know this shows for but there was three plugs here two and a
14:47And then we have the AC now your car might vary because this is a US model and there's also always a lot of different kind of
14:56Configurations but for my configurations. That's how it was
15:01Alright, so we have everything removes this back to the future. I do any head you'd in hand now
15:07Let me show you how easy it is
15:09So when you remove everything you have all these plugs on the back
15:12this is the 10 pin which controls the main power when you turn the keys on when you turn your headlights it also
15:21controls your front speakers and
15:24Various other things. So this one
15:26This one has a lot of features now this one right here is the six pin one two three four five six
15:33Now the six pin, the rear speakers so
15:38Yeah
15:40Now this one right here that generally varies between pin layouts to
15:46This is a 20 pin right right here just counting it real quick now
15:51this generally can controls other accessories like navigation or
15:57Stereo controls amplifiers and whatnot. So and also ox
16:01So we are going to be using this to get the steering controls working here
16:07These two right here are antennas and this one right here is for the
16:14Climate control so all we have to do is plug it in the back and it's really that simple
16:19Now they only go one way so you don't really have to
16:24Guess
16:26So this is the main one the 10 pin
16:29or
16:3110 pin
16:336 pin now. That will really get you started and everything will start working now
16:39Everything that was plugged into the head unit
16:41Now to see there's two
16:47We want to use a bigger white one for the FM AM radio
16:54This one might have been equipped with satellite or something like that
16:57So at this point, we are in a good position to see if it turns on
17:03Alright, so because we're just testing this you definitely hear sound. That's the first thing you want to do now
17:09I'm on this main inform like sys settings. I change it to a 2011 camera. You can do whatever you want and then we're going to search
17:16for a
17:20So this is a pixel right here so to continue select android auto on your car screen
17:26So we selected android auto. So this is car link 2.0. It's going to be connecting to the
17:33System and we're going to be golden
17:37Welcome to android auto
17:39There you go. So we have android auto spotify discord, you know
17:47All right, so we ac audio working android ante
17:52Now this also will work of apple. So if you have iphone the same app
17:56The car link 2.0 whatever you have hooked up to bluetooth is it's going to
18:02Launch car link 2.0 and you're going to have that
18:05And there are up a car plate now. We're doing the
18:08The wireless variant so
18:10It makes it pretty seamless. You just step in your car and you're good to go now
18:13Now with now with this one because we opted for no buttons for the bigger higher resolution
18:18IPS q led
18:20I mean the colors really pop
18:23You see something like that. I mean
18:25mean obviously it looks like really old school but these colors look as good as
18:28Like a modern day phone
18:30SWC we want to go to slbc because we're going to do sterile controls and i can show you how that
18:34There's a bunch of macros you can do
18:37what you do is you hold
18:39The you see that you hold the minus button and then you click on the particular setting you want
18:44So i'm gonna put you down for real quick
18:47Do minus
18:49We're going to do that hold plus volume up
18:53We're going to do next song
18:55Song and for mode
18:57You can do a home button or something like that. I think the
19:01Let's see if they have it the best button that I use generally
19:04Is the back button
19:06So i'm going to hold mode to be the back button
19:09That way, when we're navigating through the
19:15Menus I can press back and it just makes sense. I know it says mode, but we really don't want to be like
19:16Bluetooth, navi music folders and stuff like that. We want to hitz that back button, but this will be very useful
19:23For, let's say I guess like right here
19:25You can go back
19:28All right, so let me go over every plug
19:30So we we tackled the 20 pin that 10 pin the 6-pin which was the main gets everything going
19:36Now we added some accessories right here
19:39This black wire that kind of dangles right here. Make sure it's tight. That's the gps antenna
19:45Now you can have it on the very top
19:49But we're going to barely use this and for my testing this right here looks cleaner and it's good enough
19:57We have the FM AM radio antenna plugged in right here
20:02This is for backup camera if the user decides to
20:07Go for the backup camera
20:09This wire you just you literally plug and chug it this pink and blue one right here with a microphone
20:15This is the Wi-Fi antenna. So make sure you plug because it's important for android auto apple carplay to have that
20:21extended range and this is usb's
20:25Now we have the usb's go through here
20:29You can kind of see when we have it coming out into the glovebox. We also we also have one more usb
20:35We also have one more usb going
20:45The plug-in to charge it
21:09I kind of
21:11I think it's built in right here
21:13It's good enough. So it's built in right here
21:22Now we just wrap it back up. It's pretty easy. Let me show you
21:29Now you just hook up this one right here by pushing it in and it kind of slots
21:39And it really doesn't fit very
22:13They're
23:18So if you like a base here sound profile it's all in there here is a general bunch
23:30of stuff.
23:31All right, here's the settings, navigation app, map copy.
23:37We already did the steering controls earlier today, factory settings.
23:42Now this will really only affect you if you are you want to change the logos
23:48like when you first put the display it, it should show it to Yoda badge, but if you want to be
23:52I don't know, won't put Alexis badge or something like that.
23:55That is an option.
23:56Now this is 128 gig models for storage and it is the octa-core.
24:01It's super fast and responsive.
24:02You're never going to have something like you're not going to have to worry about
24:05performance with these things.
24:06They're so fast.
24:08But yeah, that kind of concludes the Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, better sound, better
24:13mixes 2011 Camry into something that's just it's usable over time.
24:19Car engines haven't really improved that much technology has.
24:23So when you even if you have a 2011, the engine is still really good.
24:27The infotainment system needs work and you put it in this to the 21st century.
24:33It's 2024. It's almost 2025.
24:35So I mean, gosh, the display looks so good.
24:39The blacks are nice.
24:41It's not all of the quality when you're driving.
24:43You're not going to be looking.
24:44You're not paying attention to that, but the colors are punchy.
24:48The viewing angles, they don't shift.
24:50There's no color shift.
24:51There's no blue shift up on vertical that like it is the way it needs to be.
24:58And it is angled in a way where it faces the driver.
25:02You don't have the will there be some sunlight hitting it
25:06because it is a glossy finish, maybe because of the angle
25:09it would be the sun has to be somewhere like I'm pretty low for it to hit like that.
25:15Anyways, because we're interested in this product, I'll leave a link down below
25:19and don't forget to like, comment, subscribe and putting questions
25:21on below all answer these questions.
25:23So take take care, y'all.
