Overview
A plug-and-play kit with trim, mounting pieces and harnesses, so nothing else to buy. John found the fitment flawless where other units for this car usually leave gaps. He routes extra USBs into the glovebox and connects the reverse camera.

- 10mm socket
Parts
- Dasaita head unit, trim and yellow mounting clips
- Main harness (6-pin rear speakers, 10-pin front speakers/power)
- Wi-Fi + GPS antennas, USBs, metal brackets, optional 4G antenna
Step by step
- 1
Pry off the bezel▶ 1:36
Hit it from the side and twist. It's only clips, no screws. Don't yank: the airbag (two clips) and hazard plugs are still attached.
- 2
Remove four 10mm bolts▶ 2:19
Pull the unit out carefully. The sharp metal tabs can scratch the trim.
- 3
Unplug the OEM unit▶ 2:53
Press the little pin on each plug and pull. The 6-pin is the rear speakers.
- 4
Fit the yellow clips and join the trim▶ 3:55
Push the yellow clips onto the mounting points, then clip the new trim to the head unit.
- 5
Transfer the buttons and hazard▶ 4:44
Release the two retaining clips on each button (push down, push out) and reverse the process into the new trim.
- 6
Route USBs and antennas▶ 6:33
Fish the extra USBs into the glovebox (watch the metal brackets) and mount the Wi-Fi antenna. The 4G antenna is only needed with a SIM.
- 7
Plug in the main harness▶ 7:36
The black connector goes to the head unit. Then the OEM 6-pin (rear speakers) and the 10-pin (front speakers + power). They click and only go one way.
- 8
Reverse camera▶ 8:46
Use the lead labeled CAMERA VIN / camera in. Two are labeled camera for compatibility. Use the one with the car's camera plug.
- 9
Reconnect airbag and hazard, then test▶ 10:21
Plug in the passenger airbag and hazard (you may get an airbag light otherwise), then test in accessory mode before clipping everything in. Add the GPS antenna.
Wiring notes
- 6-pin = rear speakers; 10-pin = front speakers + power
- Reverse camera on the CAMERA VIN input
- Reconnect the passenger airbag plug to avoid an airbag light

0:00You removed the OEM unit, you're gonna have this piece and the accessories so this is the little Wi-Fi antenna you remove the OEM unit you're gonna have this piece and the accessories so this is the the little Wi-Fi antenna
0:08We're gonna be plugging everything in and it does click
0:14They only go one way
0:35What's up guys, it's your boy John we are back again here with another video
0:42We have the Toyota Curler right
0:46We have the Decider box, if you guys are looking to get Apple CarPlay or Android Auto both wired and wireless
0:53This is a setup you're gonna need, you don't need anything else, you don't need to plug or buy any extra accessories
0:59Everything is pretty much good to go
1:03So let's do a quick unboxing, I have a full unboxing on my channel where I go over everything
1:08You got some instruction manuals and the head unit itself
1:12If you want to see the full unboxing check my video on that
1:18The main highlight is you get the trim, mounting pieces, harnesses and plug and play
1:26So it's gonna be easy
1:28I'll cut to a video of me uninstalling the OEM one and then we will install this one
1:36You can use a plastic pry tool or a flat head depending on how ballsy you are
1:41But you kind of hit it from the side right here and then you just twist and it starts to come up
1:46Really easy
1:49Then you should be able to just work your way around and pull the rest of the tabs out
1:53This should release all the tabs but be careful don't pull out because these things need to be unplugged
2:01And it's just being held by clips, no screws
2:04Just clips
2:09There you go
2:10So remember the harnesses is two clips for your airbag and then you have your hazard button
2:18And that's it
2:19Now there's some of these screws right here, I think these are just 10mm
2:24And this unit should be able to come out, no problem
2:26We're gonna use that tool before
2:28Oh man
2:29You move it left
2:31There you go
2:32So this is already loose
2:35So there's four 10's and it should pull out
2:38Alright so we have the screws, the four bolts taken out
2:42You just pull the whole head unit
2:43And this is where you have to be careful
2:45You see these little things, this is actually really sharp
2:47And that could scratch your trim pieces
2:51Can you help me unplug these?
2:53It's just a little pin right here and you just pull it out
2:56So that's gonna be your radio-antenna
2:59This is gonna be your steering wheel controls
3:03This one's gonna be tough
3:05This is your USB
3:07That could be your steering wheel controls too
3:14Usually it's like a backup camera, go ahead
3:17Don't break a nail though
3:19If you're scared I'll do it
3:22I get it
3:24There you go
3:27This is a six pin
3:30Yeah it's a six pin, so that's your rear speakers
3:32So the head unit's out
3:34Looking clean
3:35Alright so after you've removed the OEM unit
3:43You're gonna have this piece
3:45We're just fast-forwarding to the future
3:47So here's the piece right here
3:49And we're gonna have to integrate this piece into here
3:53How you might ask
3:55There are some clips on the back of this
3:58You see these, black clips right here
4:01I'm kinda zoom in
4:03We are gonna apply some of those yellow clips
4:07That are seen here
4:10On to these mounting points
4:13To get them nice and straight
4:16If you're curious, here's one of the clips
4:19You just kinda push it in
4:20It's a little bit easier with two hands
4:22Once it's in, it kinda locks in and now it's in place
4:25Let's do it for all of them
4:27And here's the decided head unit
4:30Looking beautiful with all the clips
4:32Now let's clip this portion onto that
4:35And I'll show you how that's gonna look like
4:37After it's clipped in, kinda loosely
4:44Now we wanna pop these buttons out too
4:46There's like some two little retaining clips
4:49You can kinda see the prong right here
4:53Push down, push out
4:55But yeah, they kind of eject out
4:57Same with here
4:59You wanna pry out a little bit
5:00You'll see these two clips right here
5:03I see two clips
5:05Two clips
5:07You might have to use the prong tool
5:09Pop this one out, it's a little bit bigger
5:13Pry it out one side
5:17This this one comes from the inside
5:23You just wanna reverse that process
5:25So we can put it back inside here
5:28This one goes in like that
5:34Then we have the hazard button
5:40Looks all good
5:42Alright, because we have it
5:44We're in the car now
5:46We can start mocking up the wiring
5:48And the accessories
5:50The little Wi-Fi antenna
5:53Take the little protective rub
5:56And you have metal brackets
6:07It also mounts on the OEM spots
6:09.
6:10But the owner does not have the original hardware
6:14So I won't be able to install that
6:15But that's something you can add as well
6:17For G antenna
6:19That would be using this right here
6:22The owner doesn't have a SIM card
6:25So I'm not gonna be installing that
6:30But we can be installing everything else
6:33So the reason why I have it kind of out like this
6:35And kind of pointing towards this angle right here
6:37Because we're gonna route these USB
6:41Into the glove box
6:43That way the...
6:47Because there's gonna be three more USBs
6:49One gonna be right here in the dash
6:52But you can route
6:54Because this dash piece is already out
6:56You can kind of just route it through here
6:59And that way
7:01And you have some extra USBs
7:09Is a huge plus
7:11So you just kind of have to fish it
7:13And I can kind of see it
7:16Just be careful not to
7:19Scratch yourself or anything
7:21There's some metal brackets back here
7:24But yeah
7:25Now let's think through
7:27So if the user wants to put in a dash cam
7:29Or something like that
7:31They have that accessible
7:33Let's do the main wiring harness
7:36The main wiring harness looks like something like this
7:39This goes to the back of the head unit
7:43This black connector
7:47And the OEM harness is right here
7:50From the previous head unit
8:01So we're gonna be a plugging everything in
8:03And it does click in which is nice
8:06They only go one way
8:08So you can kind of forcefully try to do it
8:11And then everything will connect
8:13This is gonna be the six pin
8:15This is where your rear speakers are a
8:18And this main ten pin right here
8:21Controls front speakers
8:24The power to the head unit itself
8:27That's very important
8:36This plugs into the back of your head unit
8:42And we also have the reverse camera
8:46I'm gonna show you
8:48You're gonna have to get the reverse camera plug right here
8:52You'll see front camera
8:57CDDN
8:59This isn't the one
9:02We just wanna look for the one that says camera
9:06Vin, or camera in
9:08So it's gonna be this black one right here
9:11Plug that
9:15Into the back
9:17And these also only go one way
9:19So
9:21It's gonna be the first port
9:23Where does this say camera Vin?
9:27You can also hook up to other video sources
9:30Through this composite
9:36And there's two of them that's labeled camera
9:38This is where it's kinda
9:41You kind of have to just have to wing it
9:44This one we have nothing plugged into it
9:47So you're gonna most likely it's gonna be this one
9:50This one's hooked up to it
9:54The reason why is some connectors like this one
9:57With a camera
9:58You're like, how come we're not using this port?
10:00It's just compatibility
10:02Some corollas have it, some don't
10:05There's some redundancy here
10:07So
10:08Or
10:10For compatibility for sake
10:13So that's why you might see some extra cables
10:16Plug in this bad boy into
10:18That
10:19And
10:21This goes through the passenger airbag and this is the hazard light
10:25But when you also need to plug in those USBs that I had earlier
10:34So let's plug in those USBs
10:39Sometimes we'll get an airbag light if you don't have that plugged in
10:41So let's just have that
10:46Alright
10:48I already can see it blinking
10:57I just kind of have it held by my knee
10:59I just don't want to clip everything in yet
11:01ese have it on the accessory mode
11:03Alright because we know it's working
11:05That's like the first test I do
11:07Make sure all that stuff is working
11:09I'm gonna plug in the GPS
11:11Now this isn't using your phone GPS
11:13This is for some reason
11:15Let's say you're stranded and you need to use the built-in GPS
11:19This is just something I don the use too much
11:22So I'm just gonna put it right here
11:24And then I'm gonna plug it in here
11:26So
11:27Very easy installation
11:29Make sure the Wi-Fi because that's car play
11:31USBs
11:33And then we have
11:35We do need a test for that backup camera
11:38Let's just kind of from the wires back
11:43Make sure everything plugs in where it needs to be
11:47Alright and that is the installation
11:53Of the Android head units
11:58Alright so I have the Toyota Corolla
12:01All wrapped up right here
12:03I must admit if you guys can tell
12:05Looks incredible
12:07This is the best head unit I've seen
12:09When it comes to this particular model
12:11I've installed a few of these head units over time
12:13And there's usually issues right here
12:16And then up here
12:17But as you can see here
12:19The fitment is flawless
12:20They really got that mold down to
12:22Again right here
12:23Everything is good
12:25It helps with the
12:26I think their mold is just better
12:28And also it also comes with metal brackets
12:30Even if you want to reinforce it on top of that
12:33So I'm on car play right now
12:35This is the latest iOS 26 version right here
12:38So it has all these glass liquefied stuff
12:41Looks amazing
12:43And I'm just listening to some
12:45Huntrix shoutouts to you know
12:48If you know you know, HOMU
12:50But let's go to the UI right here
12:54Let's flip on the headlights
12:56And you can see it
12:58Instantly goes to dark mode
13:00When you flip them to the headlights right here
13:02So it has a dark mode and a
13:05Light mode
13:06It's so bright
13:07Let me adjust the lighting
13:09So this thing is there
13:11The screen is so bright
13:13It's a little bit maxed out
13:16You can max it out
13:18Let's max it out
13:20You can adjust the brightness also
13:22Separate from the dark and light mode
13:25Somewhere in the settings
13:27For now in the settings
13:29Network
13:30That's self explanatory
13:31Exactly like your phone Bluetooth
13:33You pair it to your phone through Bluetooth
13:35And then Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
13:37Instantly starts working
13:38Car is a little bit more interesting
13:40Whether you want your steering
13:41Controls and control right here
13:43This is probably
13:44Yep the equalizer
13:46I'm going to leave everything to default
13:50Because it's a little much
13:54For me to maybe I'm sitting with right now
13:56Stere aero controls navigation
14:04Now I didn't have
14:05It works straight out of the box
14:08with the buttons right here
14:11So you have all these buttons
15:09So you can focus on your I'll show
15:23So you see the
15:28It should move with the
16:26You can change this launcher if you want
16:36Just a car
17:27You can get the altitude, that is really good for rock-clim
17:34climbing and such, so the gyro is there, if that's something you need when you are
17:41climbing, in this car, not so much, there are also a vehicle, I don't know, so more
17:50information about your car, how much mileage you have, how long the car has been on
17:57and that just shows the PSI, which is kind of cool, I think KPA right now, you can change in the setting, I believe, and we have ways installed and key study, but yeah, if you guys were interested in this product, I'll leave the link down below, it's been incredible, it's a great product, very fast, very clean, the display is overly right, even with this built-in screen protector thing, it still looks so sharp, amazing
18:29just absolutely amazing
18:32thank you guys for watching, we'll catch you guys in the next one, peace, so what do you what do you think of this screen right now, it's better, that's good, better viewing quality, the quality is a lot better, and what do you think of this volume though, the screen doesn't pop out like before anymore, yeah so we
18:55had an aftermarket head unit that was a lot bigger and it was more after market
Machine-transcribed from the full-length video and lightly cleaned (product names fixed). Watch the video for exact wording.
