Overview
The Prius is known for a bad CarPlay experience. The Dasaita kit is fully labeled and plug-and-play. Steering-wheel controls, backup camera, door status and hybrid battery info all worked, and the included adapter keeps the factory USB working.

0:06Why is right here? Let me go first camera works
0:21What's up guy today we have a Toyota Prius now these cars are
0:26Notorice known for having a bad Apple CarPlay experience
0:31So we got the decided box here, of course the side is and I'll always come in clutch
0:36Bags everything's labeled plug-and-play kit doesn't get any easier than this folks. So and it's always packaged really nice
0:45Check it out. Here instructions in color CarPlay
0:51Now this is a universal head unit for Toyota. So you got the Tacoma
0:57Corolla and of course the Prius
1:01We're gonna just wrap it up
1:03All right, so we are in the Toyota Prius right here actually very easy to remove this piece
1:09You can just use standard tools and a 10 mil
1:12First thing you want to do is pop this panel right here
1:15So we got just pop it out with a prying tool, and then you pop out
1:19This whole thing just kind of comes out after you take out one clip here. So I'll show that right now
1:46In between there, actually is a little notch
1:50There's a little notch get a flat head. I use this tool
1:55And I pop this out and then once you pop it out you can pull the whole
1:59Nash out
2:02All things comes out
2:04Now you want to unplug the starter button the H of H is all unplugged
2:22And then there is one more clip here
2:27Whole thing comes out one piece now
2:30This is going to reveal the 10 mils that we're talking about there's gonna be four of them
2:34one
2:36two
2:37Three four and the whole thing comes out. All right
2:55I'm gonna put a little microfiber
2:57just to protect
3:00Anything and you just want to unplug everything you see in the back of it
3:04These are going to be used by push tabs just like any ordinary clip
3:10One unclip and pull you got the new unit, but we need to transfer those the bracket as well
3:21But we want to make sure everything works first so let's plug everything in using the the cider
3:27Harness now they only go one way. So you generally are pretty good in terms of that
3:33Alright, so you can see there's a bunch of wires right here. Let me go over it
3:37This one right here is going to be renewed USB port some of these ports these antennas aren't going to be used
3:42This one right here is for the FM radio
3:45this one controls the power the main unit itself and
3:50such as the even the speakers and then you have this one right here as well and
3:55This too so have those plugged in and we're going to power the head unit on
4:01As you can see a little hodgepodge, but you want to make sure everything works
4:04So I'm going to connect this to Bluetooth
4:10Might be able to better to show you guys in the thing, but you just hook it like a Bluetooth like a normal
4:14Tablet and we're going to look at far on the iPhone
4:20here
4:23Car kit and the code is going to be zero
4:31Prepare oh
4:39Connect to car play you are
4:42This was so much easier than the other one. Yeah
4:46Decider. Yeah for me. That's the best friend all the ones. Yeah
4:50This is the best rare look at up with the decided and then we got car play immediately. Okay. All right, so we're just gonna
5:00Transfer these brackets over from the OEM one to the new one
5:04and that's pretty much it the kit was plug-and-play super easy to deal with and
5:09Yeah, like there's nothing much to it besides
5:13plug-and-play
5:14All right, nor the beeping the reverse camera works. I just want to show you the reverse wire
5:22So you can all see that
5:24Very simple. There is
5:28There's this main black one right here with all these wires
5:31You're gonna find a camera that says cam then and you hook it up to the yellow the yellow jack right here
5:37Cam then to cam then right here
5:40So now you can see that label this is cam in and on this side says cam then and
5:46You can see the
5:47There trajectory and there's trajectory and everything which is kind of cool. All right, let's put this bad boy in park
5:54About to put them in park you press this
5:58But uh, yeah, we're just kind of wrap it back up and I'm gonna show you the user interface
6:03Now we're gonna put this back in
6:07I'm gonna mock fit it and try to put this piece in to make sure everything fits
6:13it does
6:16and then we're gonna push it in so I want to bolt it in with the
6:24The tent the tens here
6:28Sorry, it's getting a little dark. Hopefully y'all can see that I got my wife helping me film
6:34That looks great
6:39Has it works everything is in line
6:43Let me just make sure it reverses
6:59back a little bit
7:01All right, Android Apple Car Play
7:29Amazing it's wirelessly through an iPhone 16 right here. Got the music playing
7:35Steering wheel control works
7:38beautifully backup camera works
7:40beautifully and
7:42All the audio is working like it should now
7:44We also have a new function where if you close the door
7:48it shows what doors close doors open sweet and
7:54Let's go over the UI
7:55Apple Car Play is Apple Apple Car Play. This is the Decida interface right here. So beautiful clean easy
8:01And you got the car play right there. So instant access. I love how they have that widget right there
8:07widget right there is a huge win sometimes it's buried and
8:11Yeah, you also have some vehicle information about fuel info
8:16Looks like I have 300 range travel time tire info
8:20Might have to be moving a little more hybrid information shows the state of the charge of the battery, it looks like it's down
8:25To which is accurate with what's showing up there
8:27So it does have information regarding about this hybrid information
8:31Which is sweet wheel key
8:34the steering wheel control already works
8:35So I'm not gonna really be touching that it has built-in navigation as well if you don't like a car play or your phone's dead
8:44but
8:46Yeah, this is great. I'm loving it control settings right here
8:50You can set some more parameters when it comes to your car unlock feedback AC modes
8:56Now the AC there is information
8:58Information, this is really built-in. This is not something that's just
9:04Checking out here. There's so much information
9:11Which is great now I want to go over the settings as well again the site is new operating system is so great
9:18So smooth about this information. We got the
9:21Model right now and 13 you can see the processor
9:25I'm gonna be it I think this is an octa-core four cores of high-performance four cores of economy
9:32eco
9:33eight gigs of RAM more than you need honestly, so
9:38This is a dub. This is a dub more car information right here Apple car play LED settings. We haven't tested that. Let's turn on the headlights
9:47yeah, so when you turn on the headlights you see how it shifts everything here
9:52Perfect color too, so it's already that Toyota blue, so I'm gonna leave it like that. Oh
9:59And then did you see that it had dark mode? That's so cool
10:03These Android head units are just amazing in my opinion really stepping up the game
10:08You can change the LEDs if you want I guess I should demonstrate that so right now
10:13It's that blue, but if you want to change it to green red or
10:17RGB
10:19That's good. I do have the screen protector on right now just so
10:22If the my uncle just wants to leave it like that leaving it blue
10:26sweet
10:28extra settings
10:30So you can do some like this auto sleep like that and
10:34Yeah
10:36If you guys were interested in this head unit, I'll leave a link down below
10:39The cider is just an awesome product very easy to install
10:42I just took it out and everything was plug-and-play, so I really didn't have to do much
10:47It's already working the way it is something. That's also cool
10:50Is it has a micro SD card right here too, and it has that built-in adapter where let's test it real quick
11:01So yeah, the USB still works as you can see here. I plugged it in there. It works
11:06So the the cider also includes the adapter so you can still retain that USB
11:12Thank you guys for watching. I'll catch you guys in the next one. Peace
